Phi Phi The Beach Resort

The location was perfect for us... just a 5 minute long boat ride (200 baht) to all the action but removed from all that and peaceful during the day. The hotel has an AMAZING view of the bay and Shark Point. It was great for us during the day to relax, snorkel, and have a nice lunch, clean up and go out at night. Breakfast was great with made to order eggs and plenty of variety. The restaurant was good for lunch and reasonably priced. The room itself was very nice, slightly overpriced for Thailand but not by international standards. It was a nice step above a bungalow on the beach with air conditioning in the bedroom which carried into the toilet room if you left the door open but not the shower which was basically an indoor/outdoor shower (which we really enjoyed). The wood siding had gaps and holes in it, which added the the character, keeping it from being a true 5 star hotel room but we weren't looking for that. We slept with the shades open (which I never do) because the view was so amazing. The hotel had 3 pools, all were a bit awkwardly located. The main infinity pool overlooking the beach was the least awkward, located right next to the dive shop, it was very nice and relaxing, always in the sun, on average the pool had zero to 4 other people in it. The bar/shop right next to the restaurant rented snorkels/fins, arranged taxi boats, and arranged a private longboat tour for us (highly recommend leaving at 7AM). One of hotel longboat drivers Lynn (spelling) spoke really good English and was super helpful through our stay.

Slightly dirty beach from tree droppings and other bits mixed into the sand by the hotel beach chairs. Renovation and construction by the beach was a bit annoying.

Beautiful views on Maya Bay. A beach with fine white sand. The coral reef with many beautiful fishes just after entering the water. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant.

Te llevan del puerto de Tonsai al hotel y viceversa en long tail gratis (para el check in y para el check out). Te llevan en una especie de coche de golf hasta tu bungalow y te meten las maletas dentro. Personal muy amable y atento. Hay nevera que cada día te llenan con dos refrescos de naranja, dos de cola, dos aguas, unos cacahuetes y unas patatas chips. También hay una tetera y dos tazas y dos vasos con nescafé, té, leche... Cada día te cambian las toallas, tanto las de la playa (que te las puedes llevar a donde quieras) como las de la ducha. El bungalow es muy chulo, muy grande, con aire acondicionado, una mesa con dos sillas, un armario (con dos batas de estar por casa, dos paraguas, caja fuerte...). El lavabo muy bonito, la ducha muy grande, con luz natural. Tiene 3 piscinas, dos normales y una infinita, que es un puntazo. Tienes una de las mejores playas (long beach) o la mejor de todo phi phi, en cuanto sales del bungalow. Hamacas y sombrillas disponibles y justo al lado el restaurante. Tienen una oficina de turismo para realizar tours a las otras islas y un centro de buceo y submarinismo para hacer cursos también. El desayuno es espectacular, tienes de todo para elegir.

En una de las puertas que daban al balcón del "bungalow" había un agujero (parecía que la puerta estaba desencajada) y por ahí nos entraban toda clase de bichos, desde moscas y mosquitos, hasta cucarachas y uno de los días incluso nos entró una salamandra. Al comer alguna que otra cosa en el bungalow, puede que al día siguiente te encuentres un regimiento de hormigas donde hayas dejado los restos...

El personal del Hotel es muy agradable y amable, la habitación es muy especiosa, bonita y limpia, un detalle que el mini bar sea gratuito a diario, al igual que las toallas de la playa que las cambian todos loa días. La playa es la mejor de la isla, en un ambiente tranquilo, todo un paraíso. El desayuno del hotel muy rico, al igual que la comida, el pescado buenísimo. Al final de la playa hay un camino hacía Tonsai de unos 30 min, alrededor también hay restaurantes y mini market.

Nos gustó todo, lo único que las personas que sean sensibles a las picaduras de mosquito lleven un buen repelente, pero esto no es una queja, ya que el encanto del hotel está precisamente en su ubicación.
