We had a lovely, peaceful stay. The rooms are individually designed and beautiful; the staff are very charming and helpful but not obtrusive; there are several enclosed courtyards and two with small, clean, pretty swimming pools. The restaurant is elegant but the food is average and overpriced - we found it better value to take a taxi and explore the local restaurants. Take your French or Arabic phrase book, if like us, your French is very rusty! If the hotel is not full it might be a good idea to select your own room - some have very exposed loos. Our room the 'Grenade' offered a curtained off bathroom area, a bidet and shower with lots of hot water. Other rooms have baths and variable degrees of privacy for the loo. Staff are first class.
The restaurant provides average food, and is overpriced although very elegant. The breakfasts are large but sometimes disappointing with dry croissants, tepid coffee and peculiar orange juice which appeared to be a mix of some fresh juice mixed with orange cordial! We were given cream cheese and margerine but no butter. As a couple in our early sixties we should have preferred a sprung bed with a softer mattress but for younger visitors this shouldn't be a problem.
I liked the way my suite was furnished. It was a quiant little hotel with a small pool and poolside that was comfortable to the eye and enticing to sit by.
The big thing I did not like about the hotel is that not all people at the reception spoke English and this made for difficult communication and difficulty in getting my needs met.
Peace, quiet, tranquility. Deign nature but it was outdated rather than built to look like old village life. Many things did not work and given some effort can be a very good place.
Bare minimum facilities, no dinner, little effort in breakfast and it was not included in the price. Design nature of hotel is ok but it was outdated rather than built to look like old village life style. Many things did not work and given some effort it can be a very good place.
One of the very few real 'Hotels de Charme' in Tunisia. Very well done, beautiful and very charming little hotel. Although not near the beach, they have a good deal with one of the big hotels on the beach, so you can use all beach facilities as well.
Service can be slow. Worse: when they have big groups from outside you can't use the pool and can't dine outside. Preference goes to outside clients over in house guests. So no pool and diner inside in that case.
Swimming pool, room decor
Restaurant way too expensive for the area and what you get
