Pineapple Surf House

Really nice hostel well-located for my interest in attending the WSL surf event (within walking distance to the event and the beautiful beach where it's held) in a quiet residential part of Peniche. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and lots of windows for natural light. The bathroom also was big and clean and there were shared kitchen facilities for making coffee and cooking, which is great. Also there are a lot of friendly people hanging around and being social, which is a good fit if you're a solo traveler looking to meet other folks on the road.

My biggest issue was that I thought the room had a private bathroom, which it did, but it was outside the room, so I had to leave the room and go out into the hall and enter the bathroom. This isn't such a big deal except I thought the bathroom was inside the room, which is the ideal situation for me. So I was disappointed about that. Also, I was traveling solo and also working while I travel, and the hostel had a quiet policy after 10:30 pm, which is great, as I'm an early riser for my work. However, people were still hanging out and speaking loudly with music playing in the lounge until about midnight, which was just below my room. It's great if you are into that sort of thing and want to hang out and make new friends! Everyone was really nice and there was a social vibe going on. So for solo travelers who want to hang out and meet people, it's a great fit! but I am not really into this type of vibe and am a light sleeper, so for my purposes it wasn't the right fit for me.I just prefer more private and less social accommodations.
