Ventajas: Amabilidad de Sofía. Desayuno excelente. Colchón cómodo. Decoración muy bonita y acogedora.
Desventajas: Por problemas en avería de nuestro vehículo nos quedamos sin coche para volver a España y tuvimos que adelantar un día la salida de la casa porque no encontrábamos opciones para regresar y no tuvieron en cuenta eso y nos cobraron las tres noches completas. Hubiera sido todo un detalle por lo menos haber realizado algún descuento. Escaleras de acceso cortas y empinadas.

Ventajas: Hosts were super accommodating, friendly and made you feel like you are a part of their family. We learned a lot about the town from them and it’s rich history. They recommended the perfect fado venue and upscale tapas restaurant to spend a wonderful evening. We loved the personable touch and the very stylish house obviously designed with lots of love. We would love to come back someday soon! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Ventajas: El hotel consta de cinco habitaciones, cuatro en el edificio principal y una en un edificio contiguo dentro de la parcela del hotel, apenas a diez metros de distancia, cruzando un jardín. Estuvimos alojados en el edificio contiguo. Se trata de una habitación muy amplia, con una cama gigantesca, de 170 cm de ancho aproximadamente. La decoración está muy chula, con muy buen gusto. Dentro de la habitación hay una pequeña zona de cocina, con microondas y cafetera. Todo muy limpio, prácticamente como nuevo. La habitación tiene unas vistas estupendas de Coimbra. Los anfitriones de 10. Muy atentos, muy amables, súper preocupados y detallistas. Parece que estás en casa. El desayuno muy variado y rico. Dentro de la parcela del hotel existe sitio para aparcar el coche. El hotel está ubicado a unos 600 metros del puente que te lleva hasta la ciudad. Hay que darse un pequeño paseo de unos 5,6 minutos, pero realmente no se hace pesado. Vale la pena.
Desventajas: Todo perfecto.

Ventajas: Me encanto!! Fue como estar en casa, o llegar a visitar a una amiga. La anfitriona encantadora, la casa es preciosa u todo está muy limpio y ordenado. La casa está bien ubicada, a 15 mint andando al centro. Tiene parking que viene bien si vas en coche. El desayuno delicioso y todo casero, que va incluido en el precio. Si volvemos, seguro regresamos a este lugar. Gracias Sofía

Ventajas: Best breakfast of any B&B on a 3 week trip. Hostesses were exceptional. Real flair for decorating. Old house completely renovated 1 year ago and really done well. I'd go back again. Plua there is parking.
Desventajas: Location was across the river from downtown. About a 12 minute walk. But place was so so really nice location turned out to be a non-factor.

Ventajas: Todo en general, trato tanto en la llegada como en la ida, hacen que sea como tu casa y las anfitrionas te informan de la vida en Coimbra. Habitación fantástica, camas y almohadas cómodas, calentita, baño limpio y accesible; muy espaciosa. Ubicación fantástica, a 5 minutos del centro, lo que lo hace silenciosa y cercana para la visita. Aparcamiento en la puerta gratuito. La casa es preciosa, desde mi punto de vista, tiene un encanto especial.

Ventajas: Todo! Nos ha encantado la estancia, sólo pasamos una noche y nos hubiera gustado poder estar más tiempo. La ubicación perfecta, Sofía es encantadora al igual que su compañera, la habitación preciosa, cuidada, cómoda y limpia. He de decir que a pesar de la cercanía con la carretera y zona de bastante tránsito la habitación estaba bastante bien insonorizada, punto a favor y las vistas a la ciudad... increíbles!

Ventajas: Este alojamiento es hermoso, una casa antigua decorada con muy buen gusto bien ubicada y con todo lo necesario para pasar una estancia de 10, quiero hacer una mención especial al trato de Sofia que nos atendió de maravilla , nos ayudó en todo y nos dio unas indicaciones perfectas para conocer Coímbra en poco tiempo, volvería sin duda y lo recomiendo completamente, agregar también que tienen parking en la misma puerta gracias por todo!!!

Ventajas: This is the second time we have stayed here. Once again, we were extremely pleased with our stay. Our room was comfortable, sparkling clean, and the location was very convenient. The best part of our visit was the friendly welcome by Sophia who is an excellent host for the property. We felt like we had returned home in Coimbra.

Ventajas: I rate my stay as 10/10. It's located right in the heart of Coimbra, on a very beautiful street, and there is a nice balcony in the upper floor. The breakfast included cereals, bread, milk, and so on, and it was delicious. The place itself was very clean :)

Ventajas: The location is in a beautiful central part of Coimbra. It is close to a loud jazz club but that did not worry me too much. It is spotlessly clean and a very good breakfast is included. Ana is a charming and delightful host. Excellent value for the money.

Ventajas: Situated in the middle of the old town, we were allowed to drop our bags off early, so we could trek up the hill to the Universidade of Coimbra. A plentiful continental breakfast was laid out in the morning and there were special touches such as earplugs (which we didn't need) and we were given lots of tips on things to do in Coimbra.
Desventajas: Nothing bad, though the door handle to the bathroom kept popping off

Ventajas: La habitación está muy bonita decorada. El baño dentro de un armario es muy original y la cama es muy cómoda. Tienen detalles que nos han gustado como una botella de vino Oporto para poder probarlo y una cafetera Nespresso en la habitación con cápsulas de café. La chica que está a cargo de recibirte es muy amable y nos indico que sitios ver en la ciudad y dónde desayunar muy cerca del alojamiento
Desventajas: No entendíamos el funcionamiento del aire acondicionado pero al final lo conseguimos

Ventajas: Muy buena ubicación, a pocos metros del centro, solo hay que cruzar el rio lo que te permite una mayor tranquilidad fuera del bullicio de la ciudad. Justo detrás del establecimiento hay un parking gratuito que cierra a la noche, sino la zona es de pago.

Desventajas: Las habitaciones extremadamente pequeñas , los baños muy pequeños casi no se podía usar, las vistas muy escasas desde las diminutas ventanas. El desayuno de cortesía nunca lo recibí , cuando baje a pedirlo no había nadie en recepción, no hablan español ni ingles.

Ventajas: Amazing hotel very central near the main attractions in Coimbra. Hotel is very comfortable with a super cool design. Great social areas including an amazing rooftop. Rooms and area quiet and you are able to enjoy the silence and have a good night sleep. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Desventajas: Hotel is amazing. It’s hard to point something to improve but let’s try... breakfast. It was good but you get the basics and not a lot of options specially for me that have a sweet tooth. I missed a good (crispy, tasty and fresh) croissant or a slice of cake (non existent) or a good orange juice.

Ventajas: Our room was clean and huge. We had a large bedroom, and our daughter had a rollaway bed in the living room area. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel (the breakfast was included). All delicious. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of choices. The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Desventajas: The only challenging part is the parking. There were plenty of open spaces on the street in front of the hotel but the streets are narrow and hard to navigate, especially with a standard shift car. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel as we would happily stay here again, just a warning for those who are driving.

Ventajas: Personal amable con una estupenda recepción. Habitación amplia, limpia y de decorada con un gusto exquisito, al igual que el resto del hotel. Amplias zonas y terraza en la que sentirse muy agusto. Una pena haber viajado por trabajo y no haber podido disfrutar mas del hotel. Es un hotel pequeño que cuenta con varias plazas de aparcamiento reservadas en la puerta.
Desventajas: Pese a que apuestan por el medio ambiente en una de sus tarjetas. Quizás estaría bien que pusieran dispensadores de jabón y champú en lugar de botecitos individuales

Ventajas: The property was amazing. Great little wine cellar that they let us visit which was originally a water sewer that was discovered during renovations. Property was in walking distance of the sites we wanted to see in Coimbra. Breakfast was great and happy hour everyday at 6pm.

The apartment is small, bright and well equipped for cooking basic meals: small fridge, induction hot plate, fry pan, espresso coffee maker, electric kettle. There nice touches: oil and vinegar, teas, breakfast items such as milk, juice, yogurt, eggs and best of all- delicious fresh bread delivered to your door in a bag. Parking was free outside the building. Everything was clean and replenished each day. We could not get much WiFi but the signal was strong if we walked a few steps down the hall to the booster. Our host was very helpful orienting us to all we needed and check in was easy. I would stay here again.

El Five Senses Hostel se encuentra a 15 minutos a pie de la Universidad de Coímbra y a solo 500 metros de la estación central de autobuses. Si no hubiéramos pagado por adelantado, nos habríamos ido. Es perfecto para mochileros pero nada que ver con las fotos. El dueño fue amable.

Desventajas: Being that it is a house for visitors staying in the summer months, the house was a bit cold in the wintry weather. Extra blankets are included.

Desventajas: The picture of the room I rented was completely different from the one received—the room they gave me was half the size, half the windows, and not nearly as nice. I paid for the nicer room (it was extra online) and then was given a smaller room at the lower price—though I was still charged at the premium value. It felt unethical. They insisted the room shown on booking.com did not have to match the room received, and when I showed them the cost difference for the lesser room they gave me instead, they would not give me any discount or apology for providing a completely different room and experience. The room was freezing (no heat) when it was icy temperatures outside and it smelled like chemical perfume and paint so I had to open the window anyways. The person checking me in was unhelpful and discourteous. I rarely write reviews and 95 percent are positive. This was just not a nice experience, unfortunately. The city itself was good for the night.

We found restaurant im Lousa 'To dos Frangos' to be extraordinarily good value, massive portions very cheaply, beware the is a Locals section which is fun and a normal restaurant. 'Vilha' not quite so cheap but the delicious pork shin could easily have fed three!

It is a good base for exploring the local area and is a very comfortable, quiet and relaxing place to stay. This is probably mostly to do with the philosophy expressed by Filipe (the son of the owners who met us on arrival): 'when you come through our gates you are at home'. Guests are genuinely trusted and encouraged to treat the property as their home. All the rooms are decorated with an individual theme, are comfortable and immaculately clean. The grounds are lovely with lots of places to sit quietly or to socialise with others. The pool is good for a cool off after a long day. Breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty. We also had dinner on one of our nights stay, enjoying fresh local cuisine and the company of some fellow guests. Highly recommended.

Ventajas: La villa antigua es preciosa y el lugar es encantador incluyendo sus jardines. La cena es el restaurante fue realmente buena tanto la atención como la comida. Fueron especialmente atentos porque llegamos muy tarde y aún así nos dieron de comer y nos aconsejaron qué visitar. Además fueron muy agradables con los niños.
Desventajas: La zona donde nos alojamos no forma parte de la villa antigua sino una zona moderna (que contrasta mucho con la parte antigua) donde las puertas eran de un contrachapado grueso que para un hotel de cinco estrellas resulta sorprendente por su baja calidad. Además estaban celebrando alguna fiesta de empresa y el sonido fue ensordecedor y aunque llamamos y en seguida a los 10 minutos cesó lo cierto es que cuando vas a un hotel de estas características es para respirar un aire tranquilo y descansar.

Ventajas: Amazing hotel very central near the main attractions in Coimbra. Hotel is very comfortable with a super cool design. Great social areas including an amazing rooftop. Rooms and area quiet and you are able to enjoy the silence and have a good night sleep. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Desventajas: Hotel is amazing. It’s hard to point something to improve but let’s try... breakfast. It was good but you get the basics and not a lot of options specially for me that have a sweet tooth. I missed a good (crispy, tasty and fresh) croissant or a slice of cake (non existent) or a good orange juice.

Ventajas: Our room was clean and huge. We had a large bedroom, and our daughter had a rollaway bed in the living room area. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel (the breakfast was included). All delicious. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of choices. The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Desventajas: The only challenging part is the parking. There were plenty of open spaces on the street in front of the hotel but the streets are narrow and hard to navigate, especially with a standard shift car. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel as we would happily stay here again, just a warning for those who are driving.

Ventajas: Personal amable con una estupenda recepción. Habitación amplia, limpia y de decorada con un gusto exquisito, al igual que el resto del hotel. Amplias zonas y terraza en la que sentirse muy agusto. Una pena haber viajado por trabajo y no haber podido disfrutar mas del hotel. Es un hotel pequeño que cuenta con varias plazas de aparcamiento reservadas en la puerta.
Desventajas: Pese a que apuestan por el medio ambiente en una de sus tarjetas. Quizás estaría bien que pusieran dispensadores de jabón y champú en lugar de botecitos individuales

Ventajas: The property was amazing. Great little wine cellar that they let us visit which was originally a water sewer that was discovered during renovations. Property was in walking distance of the sites we wanted to see in Coimbra. Breakfast was great and happy hour everyday at 6pm.

There are at least 2 nice restaurants around and Coimbra-B train station is not far. Price is good given the quality. I will most certainly chose that hotel on my next business trip to Coimbra
Desventajas: No major issue, it is even hard pointing out minor issues. There was noise down the street at 22h30 once, maybe street cleaners, a bit surprising but room was quiet otherwise. It might not be the most central hotel but then again I have no comparison point.

Desventajas: We would have liked a room with view. We did not realize this when booking that the room only had a ceiling window. The room had an exterior bathroom, which required a key to open and close from the inside. This was a bit difficult, as the key mechanism was not the easiest and with two children.

I never got the wood. The unit is a duplex. It could use a thermal fan on each floor. One reviewer complained about the lack of curtains in the kitchen. That could be my complaint as well because no curtains still. Another reviewer complained about lack of lights in the entrance at night. My complaint too. A pattern?

Desventajas: Básicamente le sobran estrellas. No cumple con la supuesta categoría del hotel. La habitación doble superior tiene un tamaño aceptable pero la distribución del espacio es mala. La zona del aseo está abierta a la zona del dormitorio sin separación lo cual es poco práctico y muy incómodo. El estado de las toallas absolutamente lamentable y el de la ropa de cama muy mejorable. El desayuno muy básico, mal atendido y la estancia mal acondicionada.

Ventajas: Location is OK, but about 30min away from the old city center on foot. Hotel is comfortable, with a front desk open 24hrs. Large rooms with a nice bathroom. Breakfast buffet has a good mix of items, without being gourmet or particularly high end. Free Wifi is superfast. Friendly staff.
Desventajas: While being reasonably modern and comfortable, the building is starting to show its age and could use some renovation. There was a 10cm hole in my carpet (looked like a burn hole), a small chip on the wall, and traces of rust in the bathroom. There is no kettle/tea/coffee in the rooms (I was given a kettle when I asked for one, but had to buy my own instant coffee). Free outside parking may not always be available, as it is near a school (I was lucky to get the last spot, ... at 8am). Only 2 small elevators for a relatively large hotel.
