Ventajas: Arrived in late from London, but the very next morning we felt fully relaxed already. The hosts are wonderful, the breakfast is lovely, and the setting is really cute. We feel in love with the adorable Golden Retrievers!

Desventajas: Nothing.

Ventajas: Quintinha da Foz Guest House is wonderful. It's about 15 minutes walk from Tavira castle, and 10 minutes walk to Santa Luzia where you can take the ferry to Tavira Island. Patricia and Antonio (the owners) were so kind and they have five friendly dogs who make you feel right at home. The guest house is surrounded by gardens and there is a plunge pool and lots of places to relax with chairs and hammocks. The place is also beautifully decorated. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was enormous and very luxurious. There is free parking on site too. What more can you ask for! A fabulous place to stay! :)

Ventajas: Relaxing surrounds on small working farm. Great hosts. Friendly. Superb English. Facilities great. We liked riding and walking in to Tavira and S Luzia. Nice restaurants near by. Plenty of places to explore close by with car. 5 gentle dogs add to the experience.

Desventajas: Must be an Algarve thing- shower hand held

Ventajas: The owners were so nice. The breakfast was amazing with Patricia's delicious homemade fig jam and homemade breads!! A real gem!!

Ventajas: Lovely couple. Very hospitable. And super cuddly dogs!! Great location to walk into town.

Ventajas: Special place, special people, special Holiday. Patricia and Antonio are lovely and their dogs as well. The guest house is perfect to visit Algarve, near Tavira, near the lovely Santa Luzia and everything was fine. Come back for sure.

Ventajas: I had errands to do in Tavira and as we were travelling with dog I didn't want to be in the centre of town with the difficulty of finding dirt where he could attend to his business. Tavira is quaintly and beautifully stone paved but that's a bit tricky for doggie ablutions! So this location was ideal for what we wanted. A short walk from the gorgeous village of Santa Luzia (octopus capital where we had a fabulous meal!) and just a 6 min drive from the Roman bridge in the old part of Tavira. The accomodation is beautifully appointed and presented, with an eye for design, spotlessly clean, and with so many thoughtful details. The grounds are beautifully tranquil with orchards of pomegranates, figs and others I couldn't identify, beautiful countryside views, and lovely corners in which to relax. It wasn't pool weather and we didn't have time for a BBQ but relaxing there in warmer weather must be divine. And being fenced the doggo was allowed to wander, something he never experiences in our apartment at home. He couldn't believe it and wanted to go into the garden in the middle of the night/madrugada) to just sit drinking in the space, the sounds of the countryside and the luxury of being outside without a lead. He thought he was in heaven. So did I. Patricia and Antonio were lovely, welcoming hosts. We just wish we'd been able to stay a few more days so we could have spent some time with them and our doggie could have got to know theirs and played a bit. Next time! On a practical note if anyone wants to know. There is brilliant onsite parking, a small but well equipped kitchenette, all the amenities were of very good quality, heating worked a treat (it gets cold in Tavira), wifi worked without a hitch (just as well as I didn't realise I didn't have digital roaming til I lost it crossing the border from Spain - eek no Navigator!

Desventajas: Seriously the only thing I can think of is that my partner found the bed too firm and said he could feel the bedsprings. This is personal taste as I slept like a baby in between taking a turn round the garden with doggo to reaffirm that, yes, he really was allowed to be outside in the country!

Ventajas: Wonderful place. Wonderful location if you have car. Excellent breakfast. Lots of space.

Ventajas: We had eight days at this lovely guesthouse. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The room was clean, new and with an impressive private terrace area. Breakfast was always fresh and nice. The two resident animals (cat and dog) are charming additions to a really lovely stay. Thought for ages about a downside and all we could only come up with 'it would be nice to have a kettle in the room' but that's it. Utterly charming holiday spot.

Ventajas: Es un sitio estupendo para relajarse y descansar. Tanto los exteriores como la habitación y zona del desayuno son muy confortables y decoradas con mucho gusto. El desayuno perfecto. Todo muy rico. Los dueños y personal son muy amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudarte en lo que necesites. Sin duda repetiré.

Desventajas: Nada.

Ventajas: The property was beautiful and immaculately maintained. The gardens, courtyard, and just the overall vibe was wonderful. The breakfast is very well put together with many options. It goes well beyond the ol' bread and cereal standard breakfast. There was fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, cereals, scrambled eggs, cakes, fresh juices, and more... all in a very inviting breakfast room. Every detail is considered. The property is very relaxing, as we enjoyed some down time around the pool and property at times. The hosts mother was very kind and always helpful (the daughter / host was away while we visited). We enjoyed the pets on the property also. Also, a shoutout to the kind woman who helped with breakfasts in the morning. She was very friendly and warm, which was very much appreciated. In terms of our room, it was very well appointed. It was an ideal size with a big bathroom (which was a welcome sight after traveling for a couple weeks through Europe). It was very clean and smelled very nice. Lastly, they were very kind to put together a breakfast and leave it in a small fridge for us for the morning of our departure, as we left very early to make the drive to Lisbon for our return flight. Details and kindness like this made our stay very enjoyable!

Desventajas: The property is an oasis, no doubt. The only minor thing that some may want to consider, the property itself is just on the outskirts of Tavira. It is very close, maybe 8-10 minute drive to a parking lot on the edge of Tavira. This wasn't a big issue for us. However, there were evenings we didn't feel up for taking the car into town, finding a parking spot, and then walking into town to find dinner. We did utilize the market down the street to take some goods back to the room. Though, we had limited options with no kitchenette or means of warming something up. Again, this wasn't a "dislike" per say; however, something to share in case others prefer to have easier means of walking to food or having it easily available where they are staying. Lastly, small detail, but the breakfast window is narrow - 8:30 to 10:00. It seemed to start a bit late to us, especially for days we were planning on getting an early start to go exploring in farther beaches or towns along the Algarve. These are both small details, as neither deterred from our overall enjoyment staying at this property. We would recommend Quinta Almargem Lusitano.

Ventajas: Beautiful a little paradis in Portugal. The staff and owners are very friendly and very helpful . Great tips for getting around and restaurant. The breakfast excellent. Will come back here .

Ventajas: Nos encantó TODO, de hecho esta mejor que cuando fuimos la primera vez ,han mejorado detalles como el wifi que va perfecto y es un sitio ideal para ir con niños y las instalaciones buenisimas y comodisimas. DESTACAR que SOLO SIRVEN DESAYUNOS , pero está todo BUENISIMO

Ventajas: Everything, down to the smallest loving touches. A rural feel just a very short distance from the town center. Lina and her husband took excellent care of us on our short stay and made us feel so welcome. Greeted with fresh juice from their orchard and the best breakfast on our trip the next morning. Megan and Vladimir (that’s us)will be back! ...and we’ll recommend to our friends to stay here.

Ventajas: Very friendly staff, tasty breakfast buffet, great pool & friendly dogs. Clean, well designed rooms with private outdoor space. Very good nights sleep. Great location for lots of good restaurants & beaches (although you do need to drive or take a taxi).

Ventajas: We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is charming, clean and well cared for.. The owners welcoming but unobtrusive. The weather was superb so we were able to enjoy the pool. Lovely!

Desventajas: I would have liked a bigger room but it was August and we made a late booking.

Ventajas: El desayuno muy variado, abundante y con alimentos elaborados de manera casera. El recibimiento fue muy cordial con una bebida fresca y un bizcocho que se agradecía después de un largo viaje. Piscina a disposición en cualquier momento. Muy buena ubicación entre la carretera de la costa y la autopista por lo que los desplazamientos eran fáciles. Localización entre campos de cultivo por lo que hay mucha tranquilidad y no hay ruidos por la noche. Recomendaciones de la propietaria para visitar playas y restaurantes, así como otras excursiones, muy acertadas. Señal wifi llega bien a la habitación. Aparcamiento grande, sin problemas para aparcar.

Desventajas: La bañera de la habitación es un poco alta para entrada y salida. Para el acceso a la finca, el desvío desde la N-125 es un poco malo porque tiene una curva muy cerrada. Quizá un cartel grande en la carretera simplificaría el acceso.

Ventajas: Todo, la tranquilidad del lugar, los desayunos, el personal, la magia del sitio...

Ventajas: I liked everything apart from the location. One needs to get a taxi into town - c. 10/12 EUR each way Very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast (but no hot food)

Desventajas: A little too far from town for my liking. The additional 22€ for taxis is something I could have done without. Gaining access to the hotel via the electronic gate when we arrived was hassle.

Ventajas: This was the best hotel on the Iberian Peninsula we have every stayed in. Cleanliness, attention to detail. beautiful modern rooms, exceptional breakfast. Every member of the team and the owner are dedicated to providing a first class experience and a wonderful stay. We will certainly return as soon as we can.

Ventajas: Lovely relaxing stay. Rooms and common areas very chic. Lovely artwork, secure parking and spotlessly clean. Loved the fresh figs too!

Desventajas: Better coffee in the morning. Bed a little hard.

Ventajas: It's real luxury when it's only about privacy. Small design hotel (only 8 rooms, I think) with a very nice garden and swimming pool. The breakfast is particularly incredible.

Ventajas: Manuel and his staff are super friendly and will make you feel welcome and looked after. The place is beautiful and quiet. And the cook makes wonderful healthy meals.

Ventajas: We loved everything. The attention to detail was amazing. Miguel and his staff couldn’t do more to ensure you enjoy your stay. The breakfast was wonderful and served on the patio outside our room. Fresh orange juice a highlight. The swimming pool was a good size and we had it to ourselves. The beaches are a ferry ride away but it’s fun getting there are the hotel has reserved sun beds and complimentary drinks. There’s an honesty bar - well stocked with fevertree tonic, ice and lime! The good value fish restaurants of Santa Luzia or Tavira are a 10 minute cab ride away. Really nothing to fault. We will return.

Ventajas: Perfect for those looking peace and silence in beautiful countryside surroundings. You are surrounded by orange groves. You can rent free bikes from hotel to cycle to Cabanas de Tavira (7min cycle) or even around orange groves. Delicious breakfast full of local and homemade produce (jams and cakes, fresh orange juice). Pretty swimming pool (did not swim as it was too cold in October but sunbathed by it). 10 min drive from Tavira where you can get ferry to Isla de Tavira (stunning long beaches).

Ventajas: Beautiful property. Fantastic breakfast. Absolutely perfect.

Ventajas: Peaceful location on an orange grove. Out of Tavira itself but free bikes, a lovely easy cycle through country lanes to nearby Cabanas which has lovely restaurants. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Ventajas: I liked the fact that it was near Tavira and yet quiet. Also, it so a fair distance from my favorite beach, Cacela. My room was big and quite comfortable, and the bed was wonderfull. The bathroom was also very nice

Desventajas: I think they really need to improve the acess road to the hotel and I would have liked a pool. Also, I think the surrounding garden needs some improvement

Ventajas: We stayed four nights at Formosa and loved our time there. Our room was big and bright, with stylish modern furnishings and the bed was big and comfy. The communal kitchen and fridge came in handy for preparing breakfast and snacks and the complimentary welcome port was a thoughtful gesture. The guest house is in a great location for exploring the town on foot and we were able to find free parking a five minute walk away, next to the bus station.

Ventajas: Las vistas desde el balcón a la zona más céntrica y bonita posible de Tavira. Además era una habitación amplia y bien decorada. La cocina estaba también totalmente equipada. La ubicación inmejorable.

Desventajas: Para ir al baño, que era privado, había que salir de la habitación, se encontraba en un pasillo común a todos los hospedados.

Ventajas: Location superb overlooking the square. Access to roof terrace gave good view of river and town square. Communal kitchen available with fridge, kettle, toaster etc. Simple / basic but just what you need to do a simple breakfast on the cheap Extremely clean and spacious room at a very reasonable price

Desventajas: Beds in Portugal are very firm, the bed here was no exception. It's located on the second floor with no elevator, be prepared to hike up stairs with your bags. Bathrooms are private but down the hall that you have to use a key to get in and out of, bring a robe!

Ventajas: The hosts were very friendly and gave us really nice and helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities in and arround the town. The Breakfast was extraordinary.

Ventajas: Ni lejos ni cerca de Tavira, tranquilo, cerca de las playas, personal atento, nos dieron mucha y muy buena información.

Ventajas: Habitaciones amplias y muy limpias en un entorno tranquilo y muy cerca de Tavira. Terraza privada y piscina más que correcta para un hotel se estas dimensiones. La atencion de Jorge es excepcional: muy amable, nos recomendó playas y lugares que visitar y donde comer. Si alguien nos pregunta donde alojarse en el Algarve, lo recomendaremos seguro.

Desventajas: Si tuviera que poner algo a mejorar sería más variedas en el bufet del desayuno.

Ventajas: Estás a 5 minutos de Tavira, un pueblecito encantador, y al mismo tiempo tienes una tranquilidad enorme. En la zona de la piscina se respiraba una calma absoluta. Los dueños, una pareja joven encantadora, te dan mucha información de la zona. La limpieza impecable y la habitación muy buena. El desayuno muy bien, con zumo de naranja natural y un café buenísimo. No se puede pedir más.

Ventajas: La tranquilidad del lugar, con buena accesibilidad y cerca de todo. La diligencia y amabilidad de sus propietarios, repetiremos.

Desventajas: La carretera que te comunica con Tavira es muy mala y de noche se circula bastante mal. La televisión solo tenía 7 canales y la señal no llegaba casi nunca.

Desventajas: For thé amount on money spent in the countryside of tavira i would have loved a great service but thé staff was clearly not friendly . It was an hôtel, it was their house and they dont like their customers. Always an issue... Painful

Ventajas: Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Room is big. Breakfast was okay, but the great thing is the fruit is freshly cut every day and orange juice was freshly squeezed. Location is perfect if you come by car and using it as a base to explore East Algarve.

Ventajas: Lovely spot for few days relaxation in the little town of tavira, clean, relaxed vibe and well equipped.

Desventajas: It is an old house, which has charms but thin walls and windows so it’s unavoidable you hear the guests, babies of neighbour rooms and the street below quite directly.

Ventajas: La amplitud de las estancias, la ubicación, la provisión de productos básicos en la cocina (sal, aceite y vinagre, azúcar, café y té) y en el baño ( gel, champú, jabón manos y crema corporal, todos de excelente calidad). Las almohadas de diferente tipo. El desayuno era muy abundante y variado, incluso se preocuparon de conseguirme pan de maíz porque soy intolerante al gluten. La atención fue fantástica en todo momento.

Desventajas: El colchón era bueno, pero no excelente para mi gusto. El edredón era pesado. El desayuno mejoraría con algo de fruta fresca.

Ventajas: The property is tastefully decorated and updated, while preserving the character of the traditional Portuguese townhouse. The rooftop terrace was a great place to enjoy the sun and to relax. You are right at the riverfront, close to the Roman bridge, Mercado, and the ferry.

Desventajas: The duplex only had one heater and was very cold in November, no additional blankets also did not help. Gate very difficult to open. The internet was not wireless and the cable was to short to allow the use of the pc comfortably. But I would recommend as these issues can be solved easily.

Ventajas: Lo que más me gustó fue la amabilidad de las mujeres que nos acojieron en la casa, Paola y Melinda. Fueron muy amables a la hora de darnos indicaciones para llegar, y también de indicarnos sitios interesantes para visitar alrededor de Tavira. Y nunca olvidaré el maravilloso desayuno que nos prepararon!

Ventajas: Casa Vale Del Rei is paradise. One of the most beautiful stays we have experienced. The hosts ensured our stay met and even exceeded our expectations. It is picture perfect, set in peaceful and tranquil garden settings where you can pass the time for the whole day. Breakfast is plentiful and first class - several courses and so much variety. The hosts, who live on the property, provided afternoon tea every day as well as tea and coffee being made available any time of the day at no cost. Everything is tastefully furnished and immaculately maintained, including living spaces, pool surrounds and gardens. We stayed in the separate cabin which was very private and stylish. The hosts were able to make several recommendations regarding local restaurants, trips and beaches to visit. A car is recommended for this location. I recommend Casa Vale Del Rei for a relaxing, peaceful and charming stay.

Would highly recommend, and we will come back for sure!

Ventajas: Casa val del rei was just beautiful. Amasing place and the owners were lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and the bed was comfortable. Highly recommend!

Ventajas: La habitación era amplia y estaba limpia. El desayuno en el exterior resulto agradable con buen tiempo.

Desventajas: No había toma de corriente en el baño y el agua del grifo no es apta para beber. Falta de mantenimiento del agua de la piscina a nuestra llegadal, si bien al día siguiente vimos hacer un tratamiento de choque para recuperarla.

Ventajas: El desayuno realmente espectacular. Geraldinde y su marido se lo trabajan fantásticamente cada mañana.

Desventajas: La ubicación no tanto, viajas al Algarve con idea de estar cerca de la playa y te encuentras en una casa en mitad de ningún sitio y con la obligación de moverte en coche para hacer cualquier cosa.

Ventajas: We had an amazing time and experience at Casa Vale Del Rei, the property is owned and operated by a lovely and very friendly couple, we felt that we were staying in our own family house. Amazing breakfast served every day by Geraldine and prepared by the great chef Robin.

Ventajas: Great reception on arrival, we were offered drinks. Car parking was in the very narrow street outside but it was fine. The room was very good just off the reception area. The place itself was amazing, decorated in a quirky yet tasteful way. It felt like you were living in someone's house. Breakfast was prepared individually by the host and was lovely.

Ventajas: Tavira is a beautiful town. And our stay at Tavira House was exceptionally hospitable. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. A restful night in a beautiful suite and a sumptuous breakfast! The decor and furnishing really great. Eclectic! Highly recommended.

Ventajas: La ubicación fantástica, muy bien situado, a dos pasos del puente "Romano" y la plaza principal. Nos encanto la habitación, la cama muy cómoda, un baño extraordinario. El desayuno espectacular, me encantó todo el producto y una cantidad enorme de cosas. La amabilidad del personal increíble.

Ventajas: Vilapura is a real gem of Portugal. There is something really special about this place. From the moment we arrived, the owners treated us like we were family. Very welcoming, incredibly polite, and, of course, we have to mention Filomena's outstanding skills in the kitchen. The food is just fabulous and we would recommend that you least have dinner with Carlos and Filomena at least once. She will not disappoint. The rooms were modern with very interesting concepts, everything is so new and kept impeccably clean! Comfy beds, towels for the beach or pool, and bicycles that one can use to ride down to the beach. The breakfast in the morning is delightful. We feel like we have friends here now and we will return on future occasions without giving a second thought. A deep and warm thank you for such a memorable and wonderful stay. We really cannot wait to come back to your splendid hotel.

Desventajas: We couldn't think of anything negative to say. The place is just so perfect. Maybe just a small funny story about another guest: we noticed a Spanish couple crashed into one of the property owners trees (head-on/de frente!). Please take care of their lovely property. it is so nicely manicured and they have beautiful gardens.

Ventajas: The hosts: Carlos and Filomena where exceptionally welcoming and helpful with any tips and recommendations we requested. Filomena’s dinner was our favourite for the whole time we were in Algarves, and Carlos went as far as researching places for us to listen to live music, get massages and even do a winery tour. The property: Situated among the agricultural land it feels like a little oasis. It has been designed nicely and the ‘yard’ gets sun from early morning to late at night maximizing your time to relax outside. Modern look and feel but still cozy. In just about everyday, out time here exceeded expectations! Weather so good it was almost boring, a great atmosphere that made it easy to get to know people from Columbia, Russia, UK, Belgium, Canada and France in the 5 days we were there, and memories to last us until we go back again!

Desventajas: We brought a check-in bag in our trip and the room was a bit small to hold our luggage in an organized fashion. Pack light!

Ventajas: The breakfast daily was excellent, including fresh fruits, meats, breads, juice and coffee, We stayed for a couple of dinners which were very tasty Portuguese dishes. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, social and relaxed. The location was close to Barril Beach, and the town/village of Santa Luzia. Bicycles were available to reach either of these places, and for the most part the rural roads were not too busy. Our hosts, Carlos and Filomena made our stay enjoyable and we hope to return again, thank you for your hospitality.

Ventajas: The grounds and the service were wonderful, it is a paradise. I particularly appreciated the care and attention of the owners always ready to help and going out of their way to meet guests needs and make us feel at home. The grounds are just perfect as are the interiors. Breakfast was fresh and wonderfull one could telll that the orange juice had just been pressed - delicious!

Ventajas: Wonderful hospitality. We had an amazing seafood BBQ on our first night. The rooms are cozy but have everything you need. Very friendly atmosphere and great breakfast too. The beach is nearby and we used the complimentary bikes to ride there - though it's a bit of a hike if you don't take the train.

Desventajas: The whole site is quite small (pool, etc)
