Insurance carge
Desventajas: Alamo did not release car without me purchasing insurance for the car from Alamo. This is despite the fact that my credit card automatically insures all my rental cars. The mandatory insurance purchase, which was greater in cost than renting the car itself, was not mentioned at Kayak website during the booking.

Desventajas: They tryed to give me a lower category car for the same price and they gave me a car with pressure tyre problem, the insurance cost was twice expansive than the proposal on website (it was not possible to pay for it). I have been give a 66000 km car with also gearbox problem I requsted for baby sit, it was not available . 40 minutes later, they gave me a 1year sit. My baby was 3 months old. I drove during 1 week without belt for my baby. And they invoiced it! Never more I will book this way. I know it was a ALAMO franchise and not the company directly but it is anormal to have such bad service.

The price online was completely different
Ventajas: Nothing
Desventajas: I got registration online with the price and when we came for pickup, the price was completely different, much much higher I would never work with this site againe and specialy with alamo cars

Proof of competence when things need to be adjusted
Ventajas: The car which was a large Fiat was good except that the front fender was loose when the car was given to me. It got looser as the trip went on and I finally called to get a replacement car. Eldan, the agency that represents Alamo, was very good at replacing the car but their main Jerusalem office was all but closed because of the visit by Vice President Pence. Their representative Sarah at headquarters steered us to a smaller office nearby in Givan Shaul, but they didn't have a lot of cars. We got a large dirty 4 wheel drive Diesel Dacia when we indicated to the manager David that we could drive a manual shift. Adriel, the manager of the downtown branch who was in Givan Shaul because he couldn't get to the office either because of Pence, said that we could return the Dacia to him downtown in two days and get the exact same type of car that we had had before but with an attached fender. We did that and the Eldan team was good to their word. At all times, everyone on the Eldan team, was courteous and resourceful at getting our problems solved. It's not how you react when situations are simple that tests the mettle of an organization, but how you react when there is a problem. The Eldan team was great. I would use them again.
Desventajas: Because of all of the confusion, as described in the what went right section at left, I was charged for a fillup of gas. When I got the Dacia in the Givan Shaul office, because of the confusion, I was given the car with a partially filled tank of gas. I returned the car with the same partially filled tank of gas as well. I was charged for the partial fillup. I will have to call Eldan in Israel to get that charge removed. I do feel that they will do this because of the treatment I have received from them to date.

Desventajas: Original navigation system in the car had some issues. Also, mirrors wouldn't automatically open after I would start the car. Pls, note that the rate doesn't include the mandatory insurance

Dacia "automatic"transmission was like riding a bucking bronco
Ventajas: The manager at Ben Gurion airport for Eldan rentals, the presumed local Alamo affiliate, was very nice.
Desventajas: I had reserved 2 infant car seats but upon arrival the 2 car seats presented to us were filthy and worse, had no restraining straps. The manager was nice and apologized and offered us an "upgraded" rental, which turned out to be the Dacia. The transmission on the Dacia was the worst on any car that I've driven. It was rough, sluggish, jerked and at times made us feel as if we were in a rodeo riding a bucking bronco. There is no Park setting on this transmission, only Drive, Neutral and Reverse, so that when parking or waiting at a traffic light on an incline, the parking brake must be utilized. I don't know if the Dacia that we received was a lemon, or whether our experience is characteristic.

Carge de seguro
Desventajas: Alamo no liberó el coche sin comprar el seguro para el coche de Alamo. Esto es a pesar del hecho de que mi tarjeta de crédito asegura automáticamente todos mis coches de alquiler. La compra de seguro obligatorio, que era mayor en el costo que el alquiler del coche en sí, no fue mencionada en el sitio web de Kayak durante la reserva.

El precio en línea era completamente diferente
Ventajas: Nada
Desventajas: Conseguí el registro en línea con el precio y cuando vinimos para la recogida, el precio era completamente diferente, mucho más alto. No volvería con Alamo.

Ventajas: Mejora gratis
Desventajas: Sistema de navegación en el coche original tenía algunos problemas. Además, los espejos no abrían automáticamente después de arracar el coche. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que el precio no incluye el seguro obligatorio

La transmisión "automática" del Dacia era como montar un bronco de bucking
Ventajas: El gerente del aeropuerto Ben Gurion para Eldan Rentals, la supuesta filial local de Alamo, era muy agradable.
Desventajas: Había reservado 2 asientos de coche para bebés, pero a la llegada los 2 asientos de coche que nos presentaron estaban sucios y peores, no tenía correas de sujeción. El gerente era agradable y se disculpó y nos ofreció un alquiler "mejorado", que resultó ser el Dacia. La transmisión en el Dacia fue la peor en cualquier coche que haya conducido. Era áspero, lento, sacudido y a veces nos hizo sentir como si estuviéramos en un rodeo montando un bronco de bucking. No hay ningún ajuste de estacionamiento en esta transmisión, sólo en conducción, punto muerto y marcha atrás, de modo que cuando se estacione o espere en un semáforo en una pendiente, se debe utilizar el freno de estacionamiento. No sé si el Dacia que recibimos era un limón, o si nuestra experiencia es característica.

Desventajas: Tuvo que esperar una hora en línea para recoger el coche ya que sólo había una persona behnd el contador durante la mayor parte del tiempo.
