Schaumburger Ritter Hotel & Restaurant

Location in a quiet surrounding in the woods by a castle and the history of the place.

Nothing.

The hotel was in a beautiful, quiet location and within a reasonable drive of many activities in the area (Fairy Tale Road, activities for children). Our room was large, bright, and clean. The owners and hotel staff were pleasant. Breakfast was fine (bread/rolls with meat/cheese/jam, cereal, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs) and included in the price of the room.

Stephan and Doreen are really big masters in creating the atmosphere, and the cuisine is delicious.

Rooms are a little bit too small, lacking both for space and some small but important things like, for instance, a working table. Internet access is to week in the rooms, you have to go downstairs to have stable signal.

The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Our dinner and breakfast were very tasty and beautifully served.

We had some difficulty locating it as the road (a two-lane country road) is very curvy and the hotel is located quite high up from the entry road. We were traveling at night (about 7:00 p.m.) and there were virtually no other cars on the road so it seemed desolate. However, when we arrived it was a bright spot and it looked very welcoming.
