You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."

Ventajas: "The flight attendant told me I had to keep my seat upright throughout dinner so the person behind me could eat. I wanted to sleep and couldn't do so without reclining. The seats are tight but I was in the economy plus section so I thought she should have let me recline instead of physically moving my seat upright. And for someone who cared so much about the seat at dinner no one cared about me the rest of the flight. I slept through breakfast and no one left me a tray even. Plus, I had my seat back the rest of the flight including landing which I didn't realize. Isn't it their job to ensure our seats are in upright positions in case we forget or don't realize? Just a very blasé crew."

I was then rerouted through Istanbul with the promise that I would be well compensated for my troubles. I was told that I would receive a certain amount for every hour I was delayed from my original arrival at end destination. Well I arrived 8 or more hours after I had originally expected (and the reason I booked with Swiss Air was because of the timing and the apparent luxury of the flight). Once I got back home and tried to pursue this amazing compensation I received some of the worst customer service ever and received 0 compensation for the experience. Very disappointed and will never fly swiss airlines again."

The person directing people through the process, should being questions people with skis and directing them to the proper place (especially since many people use Geneva Airport to access the French, Swiss and Italian Alps)."

Also we were bumped three times fro, Frankfurt to. Much each time on standby. Very disappointed. Sorry but this is the truth."

The food was poor and the service was worse- i pressed my call button for a drink mid-flight and it kept getting cancelled without a steward coming. Finally, after pressing the call button about 10 times a steward came and begrudgingly brought me a drink. Choice of movies was poor."

Would not book again using Lastminute.com, nor Lufthansa, as they provided a lack of service and no help for her to change her flight - even though the ticket was nearly €200 and she was clearly distressed and upset."

It was frustrating to then have to wait at Oslo airport for another 4 hours before the new connecting flight."

Even though the lights were dimmed I couldn't actually sleep, since the lights were turned back on too often to try to pass out breakfast less than 4 hours after we just had dinner."

The plane was new - an Airbus A330 - and the flight crew was friendly and helpful."

That was a rude situation....I felt cheated and then insulted . 2) CPH - Nice : The breakfast or the included orange drink gave me an upset stomach and bad case of Hemorroides. 3) I accepted a glass of tomatoe juice and when I asked for a coke with my lunch , the stewardess said I had only right to one drink and would have to pay the rest....really ? - wine used to be free and now a glass costs $4...really ?? 4) I arrived at CPH airport for my transfer .. the flight was yet not on the screen but no one gave any instruction and no officials of any kind were around to enquire....a cleaning crew finally directed me correctly. 5) the security line in New York to board was ridiculously long...someone shouted to take off our smelly shoes...really ?? 6) most were directed to the right with four snaking unending lines to one security check . From time to time others were directly directed ed to the left where there was no line and option of two security checks. Half way through my wait , most were directed to the left and all who were 'late', were let out first to their gate. The whole experience before, on the plane and after was not worth the money...least of all a pleasant one."

Desventajas: "You only get one free non-alcoholic drink on this flight and that's really stingy for a 7+ hour a long haul. Drinks should be free on a long haul, especially non-alcoholic ones. There aren't any free small snacks like chips or peanuts. You have to pay for everything and the menu is exorbitantly over priced. It's a cheap and insulting customer strategy. They can save a few bucks in overhead on each customer this way, but they are losing money in the long run because I'll never book with them again due to their tawdry actions. I doubt I am alone."

Even in Rome, where we had to deplane on the tarmac, I had a young woman and a young man to assist me and they helped me in every way possible."

She didn't apologize about that, additionally she requested to show a confirmation number with an arrogant attitude. Anyway we asked to bring a vegetarian meal, she brought it, and we asked her if it contains egg (sometimes seasoning contains egg). She said she would check and come back soon, but she never appeared. What a rude crew she was. What an unsophisticated system the flight company has. We were so disappointed."

Desventajas: "The flight from Dublin to Milan was dreadful. The seats were even tighter and again we hadn't been given an opportunity to book our own seats so...there was no on flight entrainment. Very uncomfortable. Never again."

However on this occasion we did not and needed to go to sleep as soon as we got home in Ireland. It wasted an entire day for us not to mention the days to follow as our sleeping patterns were off. I understand Aerlingus could not control these crying babies however, when at the check in desk we asked could we receive 2 wing seats as opposed to the middle seats we had been assigned. The check in assistant could not do anything for us. Being from Ireland and living in New York I fly from the US to Ireland quite often. As do my family. This was my first experience with Aerlingus. One to forget."

Ask us to pay extra $200 each to change another flight, which made us stay in Dublin for 11 hours for the connecting flight! Very terrible service and attitude, plus delayed flight. We will never fly with Aer Lingus again!!!"

Throw in the free onboard WiFi for less than $1200 each way. Can't really complain. Short flight, but slept well."

Ventajas: "Spacious enough for transatlantic economy, though I wouldn't want to be going further than the US East Coast. Wifi was good. Plugs would be an advantage. Staff were great, Captain was informative, especially in areas of turbulence which was unusual and I'm sure was helpful for nervous flyers"
Desventajas: "The food was not good and there was not a lot of it. American, although a dreadful flying experience, make up for it (slightly) by constantly feeding you. You also have to pay for alcohol which seems kind of stingy when you're paying several hundreds for the flight."

I tried to reach IcelandAir to do this as I needed proof of cancelled flights so I could submit to my trip cancellation insurance to get ticket price refunded. I tried contacting IcelandAir for well over 3 weeks, calling (sometimes on hold for hours before finally being cut off), numerous emails (that went unanswered), messaging on FB, I even opened a Twitter account to try to reach them through there- NOTHING! The flight was supposed to be taken last night- I received a FB message this MORNING apologizing for the delay, and informing me I needed to contact another party- I'm beyond blown away at the lack of professionalism and inability to answer a simple request, which was to cancel my flights BEFORE they were scheduled to depart."

Desventajas: "The salad had a bit of grit in it! I think it was probably the lettuce that wasn’t thoroughly washed. Otherwise fine."

Also, my bag is lost and no one has contacted me yet saying they have found it. the guy at the airport had no idea how to take appropriate information down and didn't know what to do. this ruined my trip. please let meknow if you find my bag as it has been two days now and I should have received by now!"
Desventajas: "The pilots was great, but the baggage was partially lost and we had to wait an hour while they found the rest and loaded it. For that hour, the airport positioned another jet with its engines firing into our air intake, so we spent the whole time coughing in fuel fumes. The crew had forgotten to put blankets out for about 1/3 of the plane on the overnight flight and didn't have enough to go around when the mistake was pointed out to them. Also, the check-in kiosks and web check-in were both faulty, so the desk assistants were overworked. Overall, the service was well intentioned, but inept. Not worth the cheaper ticket price."

Overall, my experience with Icelandic Air was so bad I will never fly with them again."

Desventajas: "I recently was scheduled to fly out of Newark, NJ on Friday 10/20 but unfortunately there was an issue with my documentation. The airline support staff mistakenly tagged me as a no show however, I had been in contact with both the 3rd party vendor and the airline explaining my situation. I watched my 3 friends board a plan with no idea if I would get to go to Iceland, it was the weekend and no embassy was open to address what may have happened with my documentation. No one could tell me if I would be able to get on another flight and join my friends nor if I would be refunded, I was simply put on a no show list and bounced between several customer support representatives. I am very upset that the situation occurred"
Ventajas: "I need a cheap flight and at the time that was my best bet. Didn't have a bad time but next time I will fly direct from the US."

Desventajas: "There were complications during checkin that resulted in everyone waiting on line for three hours while the employees tried to figure it out. They couldn't and eventually hand wrote boarding passes. In my opinion - they waited too long to make the decision to do this (over two and 1/2 hours us waiting in line no movement). Because of this, our flight was delayed. We made our connecting flight but our luggage did not. We took Icelander partner Swissair to Amsterdam. We went to the Swissair lost luggage office and spoke with a gentleman who informed us that our luggage was still in Reykjavik and would be flown to Amsterdam the next day (this was Monday at noon). I told him that we were not going to be in Amsterdam, but we're driving that afternoon to Koblenz, and would be staying there until Friday. He assured me that they would fly our luggage to Frankfurt and deliver it to our apartment the next day. I gave him our information, and he gave me a baggage claim with the phone number to check on the status. He told me they would contact me by phone the next day for delivery and that we would have to be present to sign for the luggage. We did not use this as an opportunity to go on a shopping spree. Instead, we bought some essentials (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, underwear and a shirt) knowing that we had laundry facilities at our disposal. We did not receive our luggage on Tuesday. I called the number given to me Tuesday afternoon (after not hearing from the airline all day) and was told that my luggage had been shipped to Amsterdam....not Frankfurt. I explained again that we were not in Amsterdam and would not be back there until Friday. I was assured that they were putting the baggage on the next flight to Frankfurt via KLM airlines and we would have it the next day. On Wednesday afternoon, I again called the number after not hearing from them all day. I was informed now that our bags made it to Frankfurt airport but would not be delivered until the next day, Thursday. We had been wearing the same clothes since we left NY on Sunday. I asked to speak to the gentleman's manager. I wanted assurances that we would receive our luggage as no one, up to that point, from any airline (Icelandair or Swissair) had followed up with me. I was the one calling each day. He was very hostile and told us his manager was not there and there was no one else we could speak to. There was no other number we could call to discuss our claim. He got defensive and his answer was that the baggage was in KLM's hands and he could not answer for it anymore. Yet I wanted to know why I had not received an update each day, why after three days we did not have our luggage, and why none of them (Icelandair or Swissair) was making this a priority. Remember, our luggage was not lost at any time. They always knew where it was and they always knew where we were going to be. This representative hung up on me ."
Ventajas: "Great crew service, entertainment and overall awesome hospitality"
Desventajas: "Nothing to snack on without paying. Airlines back at home at least give you crackers or nuts for free to hold you over- also, I find it a bit unfair how the drinks are distributed. I asked for an apple juice and received one cup while the lady next to me asked for a Diet Pepsi and received a whole can. A little unfairness there- but aside from that everything else was great."
