Ventajas: The apartment is close to city center. Most attractions are within 15 mins walking distance. My friend and I came on Christmas eve and we were upgraded to a larger suite! The reception staffs have been very helpful and gave us a lot of travel advice.

Desventajas: We had an issue with the bathroom door. The mechanism was broken and so one of us got locked into the bathroom. Maintenance was on sight immediately and was prompt about fixing the situation.

Desventajas: The possibility to take the taxi to the airport for 18 euro is rip-off. We asked the hotel if 18 euro is the regular price for this trip or not and we were told that this fixed price is absolutely the normal price. So we trusted in the judgement and paid more than twice as much as it would have cost according to the taximeter! That was really a pity because we really enjoyed the stay but in the end we felt a little bit cheated.

Ventajas: Esta en un segundo piso de un edificio, la habitacion grandiosa, cama muy comoda, desayuno en habitacion, el personal super atento y amable, el metro a la misma puerta del hotel, cada dia al llegar a la noche teniamos un obsequio encima cama, fruta, vino oporto, pastelitos y en la sala todo el dia fruta, bolleria, te, cafe etc.. Gratis, recomendacion total del hotel, si vuelvo a lisboa me alojare de nuevo. Obregado!!!

Desventajas: Desafortunadamente había obras sobre mi habitación durante mi estancia. Tuve que cancelar mis días restantes y reservar otro hotel. Si lo hubiese sabido, no hubiera reservado.
Con eso dicho, el personal era increíble, las habitaciones eran cómodas (aunque el baño era muy estrecho.

Desventajas: Thé suite was very noisy because of the ventilation we could not switch of! The breakfast was simple comparing with others and there was after 9 am no replenishment. Good coffee.

Desventajas: Tuvimos un problema con el baño. No funcionaba bien el inodoro ni la bañera. Se intercomunicaban y no se pudo usar bien durante varios dias. El servicio de desayuno se repone por el personal del establecimiento que tiene que combinar su trabajo de recepcionista con el de reponer de desayunos. El ruido de las habitaciones por la proximidad a la zona de aterrizaje de los aviones del aeropuerto de Lisboa. La poca luz de los baños que hace prácticamente inviable poder utilizarlo adecuadamente.

Justo por delante pasa el tranvía 28 y está bien comunicado andando. Por otro lado, al llegar, mientras hacen el checkin te ofrecen una copa de vino o lo que quieras tomar, lo que me parece un detalle genial. Desventajas: Nos gustó todo pero lo que menos fue que el desayuno aunque bueno no era muy variado y la zona donde se toma es muy pequeña. Con poco espacio entre las mesas y sillas. Otra pega es que no tiene ascensor. Esto es típico allí porque los hoteles están hechos en casa antiguas y a nosotros no nos importó pero entiendo que para algunas personas sea negativo.

Ventajas: Francisco and all of the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, we were always greeted with a smile and asked if we needed any help with anything. They carried our bags and showed us around the apartment and breakfast area. They had beers and wine in a fridge which we could help ourselves to and we settled up at the end. The breakfast was continental but was a good spread of bread, cheeses, meats and fresh fruit and veg, hot and cold drinks, this was available to your room or sat with other guests in the main breakfast room. There were lots of bars and restaurants only a few minutes walk away, we went to bar52 tapas bar and the food, drinks and service was amazing. The main tourist attractions were a 10 minute walk away but the city is linked with buses, trams and metro, as well as Uber cars so getting around is really easy, we walked most places but there are lots of steep hills and steps in the city so plan ahead. The room was clean and comfortable, the shower was hot and high powered, I never wanted to get out! We had a second floor room with balcony, we visited in November so it was cool and dark early but I bet it would be amazing sitting out there in summer with a beer watching the sunset. All in all a great little hotel. I highly recommend.

Desventajas: It’s hard to say anything bad as the hotel was perfect for us ( couple in early 30’s) however for older guests the stairs may be a challenge if staying on the second floor so perhaps request a room lower down. We arrived when it was dark and the sign on the wall was hard to see, we had used google maps and got an Uber from the train station so he dropped us on the doorstep so we found the place ok, but I would suggest checking where the property is on google maps / street view before arriving as you could miss it otherwise.

All the restaurant recommendations were great. Breakfast had great cheeses, cold cuts, different kinds of cereal and granola, fruits, yoghurt. Eggs were made to each guest's specifications. Room had really high ceilings and tasteful decoration. The large living area made returning to the hotel a delight. The location was extremely convenient. Walkable to many destinations, like Chiado and Principe Real and close to metro.

Desventajas: Rooms noise isolation is not very great, you can hear a lot others (water, walking, talking, coffee machine). So if this is an issue for you (not much for me) you should be aware of it.

Desventajas: Estuvimos a principios de diciembre, y fueron unos días fríos en Lisboa, a pesar de tener a/c la sala de estar-cocina eran frías. La puerta de entrada tiene rendijas que ventilan continuamente, no ajusta bien. Seria recomendable tener alguna mantita disponible en el armario para poder disfrutar del sofá en el invierno. En cambio la habitación es más calentita y no se pasa frío. Pero los colchones de las camas ya van teniendo muelles que se notan y se clavan...

The location is fantastic, the room had a wonderful view and it was clean. The personnel was great, very professional and wanted to help as much as they could. Ventajas: Hello everyone! I would definetly recommend you the Shiadu Ribeira Tejo Guesthouse if you are booking a place to stay in Lisbon. The location is fantastic, the room had a wonderful view and it was clean. The personnel was great, very professional and wanted to help as much as they could. The breakfast was delicious and it had a variety of dishes to eat.

Desventajas: El parking, que es zona de carga y descarga, pero hay un parking público cerca. Pero esto no es problema del alojamiento. Pero sería magnífico q contara con parking.

Ventajas: El desayuno normal, con pocas opciones saludables. Los que ingieren grandes cantidades de productos azucarados y embutidos pueden disfrutarlo más. La atención al cliente muy buena desde el minuto uno. La ubicación es muy adecuada para quienes quieren visitar muchos lugares de los municipios de Lisboa, Cascais y Sintra. A pocos metros de la estación de metro (verde), trenes y barcos que cruzan el Tejo. Este hotel tiene un diseño que le hace diferente al común de los hoteles, y eso se agradece como una experiencia más.
Desventajas: Aparte de las frutas, el desayuno se compone de productos poco saludables. El climatizador no funciona bien, aunque para nosotros no era necesario. Durante el fin de semana los alrededores del hotel se llenan de gente haciendo ruido y bebiendo en la calle.

The hotel itself is very nice, lovely decorated, with spacious, clean rooms. The staff is one of the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever encountered. Ventajas: Had a good visit here. The staff are super. We needed a three am taxi, not only did they set it up but gave us a boxed breakfast, and called to make sure the driver was enroute. The regular breakfast buffet is really nice with hot dishes too, so a great start to walking Lisbon. The room was small but well laid out, attractive and we appreciated the expresso machine. We were on the second floor which had a lovely view of the Alfama area and the patio too. For more privacy I'd suggest the 3rd floor in the summer.

Desventajas: Me fue imposible aumentar una noche con booking y tuve que realizar otra reserva distinta, lo que supuso un cambio de habitación la última noche...el personal del hotel sabía que había tenido problemas para aumentar una noche y no fueron capaces de tener un poco de consideración al respecto. El hotel está muy bien situado, pero tienen 2 plazas de parking para todos los huéspedes (ridículo) y ni un triste convenio con algún parking de alrededor. El baño si lo ensucias el primer día, se queda sucio el resto de los dias que estés en el hotel. El gel, champu y crema hidratante estan dentro de un bote que van rellenando (por tanto, lo usamos todos...). El desayuno muuuy regular, con mucho bichos en la fruta...

Ventajas: Location is fantastic. Short walk to Bairro Alto neighborhood and central to many areas and public transportation. We've stayed here twice before and it's been great both times. The breakfast is also excellent!

Ventajas: Bonita la decoración, muy original. Nos dieron un apartamento aunque había solicitado una habitación, era grande y espacioso con el desayuno llevado cada mañana a la habitación a la hora pactada, desayuno abundante, podían comer más de dos personas tranquilamente. Ubicación buena puedes ir caminando al centro en 20 min y también tiene parada de metro, bus y tranvía a 5 min. Personal amable, dejamos las maletas más de 6 horas después de abandonar la habitación y no nos pusieron ninguna pega. Repetiría.

Ventajas: Es un edificio entero , reformado y re-decorado con un toque divertido y una terraza encantadora para tomar una copa. Nos alojamos en un apartamento de la primera planta , un apartamento pequeñito pero con todo lo necesario para nuestra estancia de 5 días . Para el desayuno concretas la hora con recepción el día de antes y lo suben al apartamento en cestitas , en cantidad muy abundante de bollería , surtido de panes ,fiambre,mermeladas... Tiene una parada de metro cerca y la opción de ir andando al centro que esta a unos 10 minutos. Pegado al barrio de Mouraria y a dos minutos de la casa de Maria Severa para escuchar Fado. Ademas de una plaza cerca,unos 2 minutos andando con varias opciones de restauración para cenar. y todos los dias de 17.30 a 19 ofrecen un happy time.

Ventajas: The general vibe of the hotel and the style was right up our street. Cool quirky and very comfortable. Nothing pretentious and felt more like a multi story airbnb facility rather than a traditional hotel. Staff were friendly, always had some coffee and tea to help yourself to and even a little kitchen on each floor if you wanted to store / cook some small meals. Clean, relaxed and enjoyable experience. Would stay again.

Ventajas: No es un hotel más. Tiene personalidad. Todo el edificio reformado! el reciclado es muy interesante, lleno de detalles originales! La recuperación de espacios y la comodidad. Fantástico que tenga ascensor y jardín. Llegamos cansados y acalorados y pudimos sentarnos a tomar una cerveza y zumos de cortesía a la sombre de los árboles. El hotel esta algo alejado del centro típico., pero para mi era una ventaja por la tranquilidad , el costo y las prestaciones. Como esta a dos cuadras de la estación de Metro Intendente lo usamos todo el tiempo para movernos hacia los puntos de interés. También está cerca del mirador de Graca caminando y desde alli se puede caminar hasta los otros miradores de Alfama. Las habitaciones son luminosas y cómodas Brinda un servicio de cerveza y vino libre a las tardes, y todo el dia jugos y limonadas , bollería, café y té, que es muy reconfortable luego de tanto caminar. Tiene una cocina completa en el 1er piso totalmente equipada para uso libre durante todo el día . Los lugares comunes son muy acogedores, cómodos y espaciosos.

Ventajas: Very nicely designed hotel with beautiful decorations. Room was clean, we were on a fifth floor which was easily accessible by elevator. All staff was very nice. We especially enjoyed the breakfast in a room - great selection of pastries, cheese, ham and marmelade. Moreover the hotel offers happy hour for drinks on a terrace! We will surely come back again :) Thank you!

Desventajas: Breakfast facilities were a little limited, very relaxed which was nice, serving it in the reception area with very random seating but only had some bread pastries and cheese/meat on a little table. The "super happy hour" promoted when we walked in for free beer and wine from 5-7 was a bit of a let down as we walk down a hour in, to find all wine had run out, no glasses for the beer - once we got one it was hot (I can deal with it) but then the beer tap was empty empty - so we left. Little out of the main centre but uber's are cheap.

Estando tan cerca del metro deberían conocer mejor sobre tipos de tarjetas mas convenientes y las estaciones que acercan a los puntos de interés Los baños son pequeños pero bien aprovechados. Aunque en la Suite la puerta del baño está decididamente mal ubicada. Una tontería que genera mucha incomodidad , sobre todo al tener dos ambientes grandes.

Desventajas: Honestly because we know it’s an old building we knew the noise was going to be an issue so we were already expecting it to be bad. We could basically hear anyone and every noise. So mornings were rough, people stomping around, slamming doors shuts, flushing toilets, running showers could be heard all the time.

He was extremely friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were bountiful, with cakes, tarts, fruit and hot food (although the procedures and varying rooms for the breakfast were somewhat manic).
Desventajas: We had planned to stay three nights; we stayed one. The street noise outside our room was overwhelming from 9 to midnight. From midnight to three, one of us gave up on trying to sleep and tried contacting the hotel (its main office was located blocks away). When no help was proffered, we complained later in the morning and were switched to the main hotel. Aside from the noise, the shower was both leaky and terribly small, and the bathroom fixtures were not adequately tightened down.

Desventajas: Lo único que no nos gusto, es que éramos 4 y solo había una cama de matrimonio, y las otras dos están en altillos y separadas. La verdad que un apartamento ( en nuestro caso el deluxe cama grande) es bastante Justo para 4 personas. Es mejor para dos!

Ventajas: The property is easily accessible by public transportation and close to some of the landmarks in Lisbon. Location felt safe for a solo traveller. Ventajas: The property is easily accessible by public transportation and close to some of the landmarks in Lisbon. Location felt safe for a solo traveller. The staff was polite and very helpful, breakfast was nice and my stay was comfortable. The rooms are very minimalistic- a bed, a chair, a coat hanger and a mirror. You get what you have paid for.
Desventajas: There was no heating in my room and although it’s relatively warm in Portugal, it felt quite chilly in late November. The walls are very thin so you hear every small noise in the adjacent rooms and corridor.

Desventajas: I didn't like the stuff, I mean because of that when I arrive she didn't tell me they has elevator and I needed to care my suitcases through the 2 floor. And when she see you outside of reception in the hostel doesn't say hi or something because you are going to say hi but no reply ( a bit weird). And mattress wasn't comfortable.

Ventajas: This place was everything I could have hoped for and more! After reading all of the rave reviews I had high expectations and this place was absolutely perfect. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and it feels wonderful to have a villa in the middle of the mountains. Had a very peaceful time here and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Portugal, I would definitely go back! The owners and staff were extremely kind and accommodating, even taking in our dietary restrictions when making breakfast. This place honestly has the best croissants in all of Europe. My entire family can't stop thinking about them.

Desventajas: My special request was to have a room on an upper floor level with nice city/street view. Finally, my room was located on the ground floor. However, the view on the street was good enough. I was informed that I have paid (upon booking) the amount of € 64,86 (offer). However, when I checked-in I was informed by the staff that the total payment was approx. € 71. I am not sure if this problem is related to to the hotel management.

Ventajas: It was an amazing experience. The temporary staff was very nice, and the permanent staff too, also every time we see each other we say hallo and it is very important and cordially :). And if you wanted you could have very privacy. But I have an advice, for people which have difficulty to sleep with other people, especially if other people snore, bring with you earplugs and mask and if you want some natural pills to help you sleeping. Ventajas: I stayed 17 nights in these 2 hostels - a long time for me . I was moved to another hostel- Music Hall after 2 nights because my bed in White Hall hostel is infested with bed bugs - I have never seen so many bugs in my life! Music Hall hostel has a better location and is quieter although one male staff likes to keep the music so loud in the lounge that most people would like to go back to the dorm , lying in their beds - nowhere you can sit inside the room. The location of Music Hall is good. The bed sheets are clean and the breakfast is acceptable with home-made cake. Most staff (but not all) are working hard to keep the place clean and tidy.

Desventajas: Preguntamos horario desayuno. Nos dijeron empezaba a las 8. Teníamos que tomar tren. A las 8:15h no había nada puesto. Tuvimos que ir sirviéndonos mientras sacaba las cosas. Y al irnos, la chica que estaba desayunando con un hombre murmuró, le pregunté que ocurría y si había algún problema. Me dijo debíamos depositar las cosas del almuerzo y limpiarlas.Le dije que nadie nos había dicho nada la noche anterior y que ella tampoco, y tras tener que desayunar en 5 minutos perdíamos el tren, un viaje largo. En fin, muy impuntual y el señor estaba ahí muy irrespetuoso juzgando sin saber que pasaba.

Desventajas: my bed in White Hall hostel is infested with bed bugs. The dorm is in the basement so there is no natural light but the photo showed a very bright room with plenty sunlight. The dorm has no door so noise from lounge can be heard. On the second night, staff and guests kept talking loudly till midnight. One guest apologies to me the next morning and I told him it is the fault of the hostel staff - they have no concern for the comfort of the guests. I hope management could establish some rules so staff can follow - both Music Hall and White Hall have small public area but some people like to talk loudly and I am very annoyed by this - and the loud music. One male staff should grow up, work hard and learn how to talk to guests.

Desventajas: La persona que me atendió me dijo que la habitación estaba limpia y en mi cama había varios pelos de mujer. Por otra parte, los enchufes de la habitación no funcionaban y habían metido un alargador/ladrón por debajo de la puerta. Además, la habitación me pareció muy pequeña. Entre la litera y una mesita ya apenas había sitio. Por último, había un grupo de despedida de soltero que no pararon de gritar y de poner música por la tarde en el tiempo que estuve alojado.

Ventajas: The hostel was absolutely amazing and definitely exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, bright, clean, romantic, decorated in traditional Portuguese style (which I really liked). The toilets and the showers were clean and equipped with everything needed (including a hairdryer). The common kitchen was super convenient, offering free coffee at any time. The place is located on the main street, making it easy to find and safe to walk to. And on top of that, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, helping with everything needed. I will definitely come back in this place the next time I'm in Lisbon.

Desventajas: 4 piso sin ascensor, baños compartidos, paredes muy fina de la hab 6 se escuchaba los vecinos como si estuvieran dentro.

Ventajas: Clean, coffee machine, tea pot, lot of mugs and kitchen things to cook. Double cooking panels. Nice apartments in general.
Desventajas: Low noise insolation - you can hear whats happening outside of the room plus in rooms next to yours (we had a separate door to other guests room). There are now place where you can actually hang out with other guests. I would say this place something in between hostel and shared apartments. Apartments requires renovation.

Ventajas: The hostel was absolutely amazing and definitely exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, bright, clean, romantic, decorated in traditional Portuguese style (which I really liked). The toilets and the showers were clean and equipped with everything needed (including a hairdryer). The common kitchen was super convenient, offering free coffee at any time. The place is located on the main street, making it easy to find and safe to walk to. And on top of that, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, helping with everything needed. I will definitely come back in this place the next time I'm in Lisbon.
Desventajas: The 7 min walk to the metro station, since I was there for early morning meeting. But if you don't rush anywhere, the location is amazing and you get to enjoy the view of the park nearby and the Portuguese's morning coffee routine in the small cafes on streets.

Ventajas: Clean, comfortable and cosy. Clean toilet and showers. Simplistic interior design with a bit of Portugal ceramics on the wall of the kitchen and dining area which I loved it very much. Downstairs there are a few cafés which served nice coffee and breakfast. Around 6 ~8 mins walk from the Picoas underground station.
Desventajas: It’s located at the fourth floor, a bit of climbing - a total of 80 steps. Taking a bit of time traveling to the city centre or tourist spots using the metros from this property, which involved two interchanges to reach the city centre. If you don’t mind, it will be fine for you.

Ventajas: Well kept guest house. Clean throughout. Good neighbourhood for sightseeing. Breakfast at a bar over the road was perfect for us, and the Couple who ran the bar were lovely and very friendly.

Ventajas: Hostel really good, clean. We didn t have problemas talking to Catarina and arranging our arrival time. She was there to welcome us and explain everything about the hostel. Bathrooms good and super clean, showers as well. The only negative point is that the bedroom was suuuper small (we could barely open our bags and whey They were open we couldnt walk in the bedroom.

Ventajas: Excellent location
Desventajas: Please change those pillows... they're absolutely uncomfortable and since I know I'm paying for the location and at least a good night's sleep, the pillows are an absolute must. Otherwise it defeats the scope to use this guesthouse for the location and just sleep. They gave us extra pillows when we requested them.

Desventajas: Booked it because it said there was a balcony, and actually it was a shared terrace without sunlight where they hang clothes and have some stairs that lead to nowhere. Very weird. Unfortunately, I believe I paid a higher rate since it was the Websummit week and there were no other hotels available.

Desventajas: I am reluctant to give a negative review but as the guest house has not replied to my email, here goes. On the 4th floor yet again. A male guest managed to gain access into my room in the middle of the night. He used my private bathroom twice and then persistently banged on my door for 10 minutes. I was very ftightened. My question is how in earth did he get in and why did he think he had access to my bathroom. Cold water would not turn on in the shower, so to avoid burning myself had to skip having a shower in the morning before leaving. Advice. Take an uber and get dropped off at the door. Very difficult to find on foot.

Desventajas: 4° piso sin ascensor. Ventana sin cortina ni persiana, a las 8 en pie. No tenia balcón como se imdicaba en el portal de booking, el alojamiento no dispone de ninguna habitac con balcón según el personal.

Desventajas: our room was on the 4th floor (in the roof basically) so window was about 10' up in the air and only a view of the sky above - consequently room was dark and had no view - our friends however had a room on 2nd floor with huge double windows opening onto the street which was much brighter
