We had to wait in a huge line to get rebooked and it was clear the Japan Airlines employees did not know what they were doing. Put me on a flight next day and couldn't even provide hotels for us (gave us $100 to find our own which was near impossible at that time). I had to sleep in a sleeping bag in the airport overnight by myself."

Desventajas: "I didn't like that the crew at check-in and the crew on the plane told me different things. The crew at check-in told me I could keep my purse with me, and the crew on the airline told me I had to put it overhead. Please be consistent! Flying is very stressful for me, and I want the staff to make it as stress-free as possible. As for boarding, I wasn't allowed into the gate until an hour before. What really bothered me was that they had already let some people into the gate and shut some other people out. Either let people in or don't. Don't follow the rules halfway because then they won't mean anything. I was very shocked by this and have never experienced this at any airline before. All I wanted to do was sit down and relax at the gate before boarding. If this ever happened to me again, I would not fly with the same airlines. To think that this was a JAL flight, with such a high reputation of customer service, makes me even more wary of booking a flight with JAL. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, and I will not tolerate it if it happens again."

But the airline put us up in a hotel and gave us meals, so I had a nice bonus day to see the city. The flight itself was very pleasant, with the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen on a long flight and plenty of food and drink."

Desventajas: "Only 30 people were not priority boarding (including me). Not being Japanese makes you a second class citizen on Japan Airlines."

The food and beverage options were comparable to most airlines like Delta, United, etc, but presentation was better so they get style points. Their wifi connectivity was far better than Gogo's services, which is the provider for most domestic airlines. The real improvement compared to most my travel was the level of service. The staff was incredibly attentive."

Also, when will one of these airlines start providing balanced meal options that are actually palatable. JAL's food was okay, but heavy on starches and fats with low quality protein or vegetables to accompany them."

Desventajas: "At our first checkin from Korea Ana, seems we have to look at a screen for our luggage just to double check that they made it past customs (never had to do that before) - check in was a bit longer compare to yvr their scanner was much smaller so definitely can’t have big carry on"

Ventajas: "The crews on ANA (Flight Attendants) are the hardest working, most polite and service oriented of ANY carrier I can remember. When the cabin lights are ON, the crew is hustling to keep the passengers occupied and chewing. Free Beer, Wine and mixed drinks in Coach! Every Service - Snack, Drinks, Lunch, Dinner, Coffee/Tea, Second and Third rounds of drinks includes a cold towel to wipe your face and hands and most important, trash is collected promptly EVERY single time. WOW. I noticed that Flight Attendants take notes on sleeping passengers for every major meal service, and they take the time to revisit those customers when awake to check they might have wanted to be fed. I also noticed that the crew has special double sided tape to pickup crumbs and spills in the aisles so grime is not tracked into the carpet. Dont be surprized to see a flight attendant cruising the aisle after dinner with a soft cooler full of small vanilla Hagen Daz cups..."
Desventajas: "We flew from Bangkok to Washington Dulles with a connection in Tokyo. Snow in Japan caused crew shifts to max out and ultimately a dramatic change in flight departure. (Guaranteeing a missed connection) This caused multiple downstream challenges. 1. Original flight was scheduled for 00:30. (Half Past Midnight), rescheduled flight was scheduled for 12:30 (Half Past Noon) For Americans unused to a 24 hour clock, this made emails From ANA very difficult to wrap your mind around. Was it a typo? What happens when you miss your connection? (Turns out weather delays do NOT result in accommodations or meals being provided) Rescheduled flight should have been for 1231 with (AM/PM in Parentheses) 2. For passengers who spent their vacation/trip near the equator, the prospect of spending the night in snowbound Tokyo was simply not addressed in the cancellation email. The better option was to stay in your original point of origin and make the connection in one day, but email has NO telephone number for passengers to call to make these arrangements. (We ended up calling a toll California telephone number to be sure we got an English speaking agent) 3. Many SE Asian departing cities have a crazy baggage weight policy that allows for Two bags of 25 Kilos each , but if you have a single bag that weights 32 Kilos, you must pay excess baggage. Although the policy may NOT be specific to ANA, there are hundreds of folks of all nationalities repacking suitcases on the floor of the airport, to try to meet the regulations. As a traveler I understand this, but as an ANA customer it makes no sense, especially when the ticket agent cannot charge the overage to a credit card at the ticket counter. Instead sending you to a different location then waiting for you to return with a receipt. Its a huge scam and ANA can do better communicating the rules to passengers via email or their web site. Nothing starts a long trip off worse than arguments over arcane rules. 4. Changing a return flight arrangement as a result of weather happens at the last moment, but seat assignments apparently could not keep up. I would rather NOT fly than face a center seat in coach for 14 hours. I cannot explain what happened, but repeated attempts at advance check in showed NO assigned seats available, the ticket and gate agents could not improve on this, but BOTH flights ended up having empty seats and in the end we stressed for nothing. ANA must be able to do better, improving their IT systems to make advance seat assignments possible no matter how challenging the problem of "equipment" and other changes in the face of a canceled flight."

Thete was not sufficient time to arrive more than an hour early due to the fact Gimpo airport opens at 6am and the flight was at 7:45. When I arrived I was not allowed to check in or board and no one wanted to help me find out what to do. They suggested I call my ticketing agent. Thankfully they were helpful but they mentioned the ANA SHOULD have helped me find the next available flight but the representative kept repeating it was not her job. Finally she looked and said there were no available flights and tried to push me to buy another ticket through another company. My ticketing agent helped after she heard what happened and rebooked my flight for the next day. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but ANA staff at Gimpo were a bit of a nightmare to deal with"

Ventajas: "The flight was less busy than usual (it was an Easter Sunday departure) and so service was a bit more relaxed and friendly than usual instead of just efficient. Left gate a few minutes early and arrived 20 min early in Tokyo. Flight time is pretty good - 8pm departure which gives time for a relaxed day sightseeing in Dusseldorf before going to the airport in the late afternoon, Arrival in Tokyo is about 2pm which would be a good time to check in to hotels and relax. Food was good - dinner after take-off and a brunch-type meal a few hours before landing. Entertainment system is also very good although I'd flown a lot recently so seen the films I wanted to see already. Sometimes ANA are just "good" but this one was the best one I've flown recently."

Nunca apareció responsable de Avianca en Mendoza. Vergüenza total!! En realidad subimos 3 veces y las 3 veces nos bajaron. Tuvimos quehacer aduana y migración 2 veces. Retirando equipaje y volviendolo a pasar. Nos dijeron que el Lima nos iban a contactar para resarcirnos monetaria mente por noche de hotel perdida. Mentiras para sacarnos de encima. Increíble. Detestable. Denigrante!!!!!!!!. Avianca NUNCA MAS. Y ME VOY A ENCARGAR QUE MUCHA GENTE LO SEPA. Dedique se a otra cosa. ."

Desventajas: "The lack of overhead storage was not noted at the gate so about half the passengers had to have their hand luggage tagged on the plane itself, involving wheeling to the back to be tagged. Then once everyone was seated, the attendant wheeled them by and passengers had to call out when they saw their bag go by so that they could be issued the corresponding luggage claim ticket. The seat width and pitch was sad compared to 'low cost' airlines like JetBlue."

Desventajas: "El embarque muy lento y desorganizado, el personal para chequear tu vuelo en shanghai demasiado incompetente, es la tercera vez que voy a shanghai y a la hora de salir siempre les aparece a ellos un error en su sistema, todo eso despues de haber pasado la aduana... algo que deberian haber corregido, con mi visado y pasaporte en orden, yo comprendo que la temperatura del avion debe ser baja ...pero en estos vuelos se les va la mano hace muchisimo frio en esos aviones para un viaje de casi 14 horas, termino siempre enfermandome y con gripe a causa de esas largas horas de frio constante ...deberian mejorar y comprar nuevos aviones con mas espacio para esos viajes tan largos, porque los que he cogido hasta ahora estan un poco incómodos...ojalá mejoren, aunque se que estoy lejos de la realidad pero igual se los dejo dijo."

Desventajas: "Desde el abordaje hasta la llegada, todo es complicado, no dan información, absolutamente todos los vuelos que he tenidocon ellos se retrasan, los uso no por elección personal, sino por una situación agena a mi control, cada vez espero que no pase lo mismo que en el vuelo anterior y cada vez se superan (para mal)"

Tuve la mala suerte de que cambiaran de asiento a una persona subida de peso y la sentaron al lado de mi asiento, esta persona ocupaba más que solo su espacio y en ciertos momentos era bastante incómodo. Creo que a estas personas no deberían ubicarlas en las asientos centrales. Más aún si es reubicación"
