I was finally able to check in online the afternoon of the flight, but no seats were left, so had a boarding pass with no seat assignment. Got to the gate and they sent me and about 25 other folks with no seat assignment to wait for a "colleague" who finally appeared after almost everyone else had boarded. I did get a seat, but I was one of the last to board. They ran out of salmon dinners, so the stewardess plopped a chicken dish in front of me--didn't eat since I am vegetarian. The stewardess did give me a free mini bottle of wine, which is normally free on Lufthansa. I am just not all that impressed with SAS. I will try to avoid them in the future."

Desventajas: "Cabin light was only slightly dimmed during the 8 hrs flight. Then instead of gradually brighten the light. They just flip the switch to full blast. I think they are trying to sell you more duty free than letting their customers rest. Not ok!"

Ventajas: "Short flight, friendly crew."

Ventajas: "The crew was friendly."
Desventajas: "The crew forgot to start serving the final meal until 40 minutes before we landed which resulted in them nearly throwing food at people so that they could quickly get through the plane and sit again before descent. I was not able to choose my seat and was seated in the back of the plane. Consequently this meant that every parent on the plane with two-year-olds decided that the best place to let them stretch their little legs was back by me. I work with small children so I understand that when they reach that age all they want to do is kick and punch, but I didn't want to end my vacation by having half a dozen two-year-olds punch my leg or try to crawl under my chair as they wandered nearby. I still have bruises."

Ventajas: "On time and smooth travel."
Desventajas: "No choice in dinner items."

Desventajas: "Crew was rude. Had to ask 3 times for a drink before I actually got it and they snarled at me about having to pay. I didn't care about paying, at that pout I would have paid $100 for some water. Seats are RIDICULOUSLY small and when the person in front of you puts their seat back it's impossible to do anything. Forgot having your tray table down."

Ventajas: "Staff seemed nice. Boarding didn't take too long even when I was selected for a random check."
Desventajas: "The air conditioning didn't go on until take off. There were no options for food. All alcoholic beverages were not complementary and priced too high. I got sick after eating the meal that was provided. i reserved a seat but at check in the computer assigned me a different seat number. I was flying with a family member and instead of sitting next to them I had to sit next to a stranger."

Ventajas: "A bottle of water along with the standard pillow and blanket at each seat. Never had a long line for the bathroom (dumb luck?)"

Desventajas: "I didn't.t like your movies selection? Not very current. the food was awful. Not being able to book a seat until I arrived from Amsterdam."

Desventajas: "Couldn't use the WiFi without paying extra, even on an international flight. The seats are among the most uncomfortable I have ever flown in. There is so little room that it is virtually impossible to sleep, even on an 8-hour flight. The purser's English was atrocious, nearly incomprehensible, and he didn't seem to care whether anyone understood him or not."

Ventajas: "The SAS experience was great overall. Nice flight attendants, quick boarding, very well organized. Food was one of the best airline foods Ive ever eaten, especially the BBQ chicken and wild rice entree."
Desventajas: "Something about the seats made it impossible to sleep without being woken up frequently by a painful position (economy class). Obviously no economy class seat will be comfortable to sleep in, but SAS seats seem to be a lot worse than other airlines."

Desventajas: "I was traveling with two small children (my grandchildren ). The crew was unhelpful and unfriendly . I don't think I will fly SAS again"

Desventajas: "no vegetarian food I am always told should have ordered at booking but this option is always made obscure, difficult or impossible too cramped and plain full to capacity"

Desventajas: "I had the same seat as I originally chose, but my husband's seat was changed without any consent and he had to change from the isle seat to the middle seat. Due to this, he could not sleep at all in 8-hour flight. I bought the ticket well in advance and chose the seats, and that was all in vain. I have no idea why it happened, and we are very disappointed."

Desventajas: "I missed my flight due to car troubles and has been very difficult in trying to get a refund for my flight. SAS was very unhelpful at the airport I had to go to Delta and purchase and entirely new flight!"

Ventajas: "Food good, comfortable plane, smooth flight, on time, baggage handled properly"

Ventajas: "Crew was excellent"
Desventajas: "Was put on standby because all passengers could not wait in gate area after checkin. Stood in public hallway for nearly an hour - no seating in area where told to stand."

Ventajas: "Nothing , it was terrible flight ."
Desventajas: "I bought full price ticket, not STAND BY SAS DIDN'T LET CHECK IN MY FLIGHT FROM RIGA to SAN DIEGO. So I have problem everywhere . In Oslo I was waiting for my seat more than one hours. I very often was SAS, it was good, but never ever I will use this company again."

Desventajas: "I was sitting next to a girl who was not part of my family who got airsick 3 times on the flight. The first time I told the airline attendant and she brought a large plastic bag and some paper towels. The girl but her used airsick bag inside the large plastic bag. I tied the top and put in next to me near the aisle because I expected the attendant to come pick it up. The attendant told me I had to take it to the lavatory and dispose of it in there. It was very hard to get the large plastic bag into the small trash receptacle because it had fill with air. I asked the attendant for another airsick bag but she never brought it. The girl got sick again and she used my airsick bag. While walking the bag up to the lavatory, I asked a different attendant for another airsick bag. They just told me I had to dispose of it in the lavatory and never brought another airsick bag. I had to ask someone for their airsick bag because the girl got sick a third time. I can not believe the horrible service on this flight! The poor girl was crying because she felt so sick and there wasn't anyone to help her. I did what I could but I felt something could have been done by the crew. I will think twice before I reserve another flight on SAS."

Ventajas: "Efficiency, confidence, promptness"
Desventajas: "The meals were mediocre and should be up to the standard of the rest of SAS service. The selection of movies could have been wider. They do help pass the time."

Desventajas: "I was sitting next to a special needs man and the crew was extremely unhelpful towards him. He should not have been flying alone and they did not help him at all. When you handed out the customs form he told the stewardess he needed help and she ignored him. When I pressed the call button for him it took someone 35minutes to come back and then she told him she would help him after dinner. I pressed a call button the second time to help him find something and again it took over 30 minutes for someone to come back to us. If there was a real emergency this delay would have been a huge problem. The stewardess was extremely rude in general."

Ventajas: "From finding affordable tickets to the moment we left the flight we had a wonderful experience again on SAS. Boarding was simple, we left on time, the flight was smooth and enjoyable, crew and food wonderful. It was a super experience so thank you SAS!"
Desventajas: "Nothing negative at all."

Desventajas: "My first flight was so delayed that I missed my second and had to stay in Reykjavik overnight. I didn’t make it back to Denver when I was supposed to."

Desventajas: "Repeatedly asked the same questions while trying to make flight. Very small gate area for number of passengers. Only one person at gate asking two questions re bags. Long wait for bus to plane."

Desventajas: "This is a low cost airline, so don't expect much. Saga class which is sold as business is nowhere close to business class. The seats are the same as first class on domestic US airlines and recline only a little. The airport in Iceland is horrible, completely congested, expect long lines, no priority lanes, missing your flight and nobody cares. I will not be flying this airline again."

Anyone with disabilities needs to avoid this airport. Seat pitch is a bit tight and window and center seat passengers can have a tough time getting out when seats in front are fully reclined"

Ventajas: "Crew was great, Courteous and cheerful. Uniforms looked sharp and well maintained."
Desventajas: "Connecting flight transfer very rushed."

Ventajas: "Got home safely. Plane had Rolls Royce engines. Four sixty from London to Newark is a good price."
Desventajas: "Broken screens for 2 of our three travelers, pull down tray was dirty, not even a free bag of nuts for a 6 hour flight? Airport in Iceland is in serious need of a restructuring to improve flow (lines for different flights intermingled; same for food lines; plenty of bathrooms but had long lines because signs were insufficient;"

Ventajas: "the flight was only a little delayed"
Desventajas: "you had to buy meals and the ear phones on economy flights"

Desventajas: "Unfortunately we were herded into a tiny waiting area, pushed up against one another waiting for a bus to take us to the plane. The wait was unnecessarily long and the room very hot. Then again we were held in a crampt and very warm bus to the aircraft. Passengers inside the bus, pushed open some of the windows to give us a little fresh cool air. Finally we exited into the rain and wind to very slowly board the aircraft in no order, which led to people standing out on a slick staircase getting rather wet prior to entering. One of the worst boarding plans I've experienced."

Ventajas: "the water bottle on boarding the aircraft and multiple offers for rehydrating. the crew was very professional and friendly"
Desventajas: "absolute chaos on boarding in Iceland. no room to sit and no method to boarding"

Desventajas: "Our flight was delayed due to weather. Understandable and glad the airline chose safety first. Unfortunately the terminal was not equiped to handle that many passengers waiting for departures. There was no where to sit and had to sit on the floor for over four hours. May not be a big deal for some but at age 62 I had difficulty getting comfortable for the remaining flight. Denise"

Desventajas: "No complimentary food or snacks on a 6 hour flight? I've never heard of this before. I've had snacks on even a 2 hour flight with other airlines. This is especially unacceptable and inconsiderate considering that due to the airline's carelessness passengers who had a connecting flight (same airline) arrived to the layover later than scheduled with only 30 mins to spare we had no time to pick up food. Only to use the restroom. So my boyfriend and I were forced to spend ~$12 on a soggy ham and cheese "baguette" and pringles on the flight. Service and attentiveness was subpar. Landing was disastrous and would have been traumatizing if it was my first time flying. I along with surrounding passengers nearly jolted out of our seats and had to brace ourselves as the wheels bounced off the ground trying to graze the pavement."

Desventajas: "Food for purchase, expensive as in the terminal and plane It's a good idea to bring your own food Boarding was a real mess. No organization"

Ventajas: "I love the fact that you can watch any of the movies and tv shoes for free."
Desventajas: "The boarding process was a free for all, with a number of people confused about where the flight was headed. We were almost an hour late taking off. I was also supposed to be seated in the emergency exit row, and when I boarded the plane I discovered that I was moved to a different row."

Ventajas: "Leg room in sardine class is good for someone 5'4"."
Desventajas: "The boarding makes no sense. If you let people board from 2 ends of your plane, you should at least tell rows 1-20 to go to that door and 21- 35 go to the other. Since that's not done, mayhem ensues. The whole no free food thing is ridiculous but I will either fly a different airline (Lufthansa) or bring my own food. Also the entertainment is what you see on TV in the USA, there are no new movies AND the content is the same east and West bound."

Ventajas: "As always, entertainment options were excellent. Flight was smooth and comfortable."
Desventajas: "Icelandair really needs to provide food on flights. This was a 6-hour flight through dinner time and we did not even get a bag of pretzels. The only food options were for a fee. Boarding took a long time as it seems that one of the boarding pass scanners was not working."

Desventajas: "Airport in Iceland is chaos. Both flights were late, which put us in Newark later than expected, which could have caused us to miss our connector to mid-west. No control to boarding in Iceland."

Desventajas: "2 hour delay. Then couldn't get my bag and waited for over an hour"

Ventajas: "Flight was very comfortable, good service, seats have enough room."
Desventajas: "BOARING. It was 3 or 4 flights shcedule at time with 15-30 min difference. Very crowded! We even couldn't reach our gate without pushing other people around, MESS! And we waited for boarding our bus."

Ventajas: "It was a fast trip, comfortable cabin, smooth ride, nice staff."
Desventajas: "The keflavik airport is the worst! No places to sit, and the boaesing process just simply doesn't exist. People queue up wherever and a try to push to get on board. Also the music selection didn't work on our journey."

Ventajas: "Boarding process in Reykjavik was a nightmare. There were five or six flights leaving within a half hour of each other and hundreds of people were crammed into a very small waiting area with nowhere to sit."
Desventajas: "There were no announcements explaining why our flight was not boarding on time. We waited about 50 minutes at the gate while other flights that had later boarding times were boarding. Besides being squished in a crowd with nowhere to sit for such a long time and no explanation about why we weren't boarding made for very grumpy passengers even before we got on the plane!"

Ventajas: "That I was able to get off."
Desventajas: "•Flight crew were so strict and stern. It's like their smile was for sale too along with everything else. •Boarding fight to Newark International airport took almost 45 min because a novice was placed to handle and IMMENSE line of passengers boarding alone. He was clearly nervous. •On the plane there was a lack of entertainment, the only films available were intended for children. Music was "unavailable"."

Desventajas: "No free meal, constant duty free sales runs up and down the aisle by flight attendants, broken seats and headphone jacks, slow and clumsy boarding process"

Desventajas: "Luggage was left in Amsterdam. The A'dam flight was an hour late, which didn't leave enough time to have dinner."

Ventajas: "They were on time."
Desventajas: "I had booked seats early and they had changed them so that my husband and I were not sitting together."

Ventajas: "For economy section seats were relatively comfortable and had decent leg room. Also kids meals were free and prices for food drinks reasonable"
Desventajas: "Boarding and transfers were a little chaotic"

Desventajas: "Had to climb stairs to board the plane & walk from the terminal. There was no food service included. Had to buy food, expensive prices & the choices were very limited. A major downer! Only had 2 beverage services in 6 hrs."

Ventajas: "Icelandair does a good job or providing free entertainment on their flights."
Desventajas: "Though the free entertainment is welcome, it doesn't make up for the myriad of issues we had with Icelandair during our trip. First, both flights smelled like the bathroom toilet puck (the ones they put in urinals) was used to clean the airplane. Icelandair provides no food for free during international flights, which is an oddity (usually there's something during a six hour flight). I could maybe look past the smell and lack of food, but my wife and I were seated in different rows and sides of the airplane, even though we booked our flight together! Overall, I would recommend another airline. Lufthansa, KLM, or Condor if you're in Europe or traveling around that area. They all have small setbacks but are still far superior to Icelandair."
