It was a traumatizing experience for her... needless to say, nothing was found and no explanation was given. Upon landing and changing our plans, we were told we were actually proceeding to our original destination in JFK. However, we have to wait for a new crew and we're stuck on the tarmac, on the plane for additional couple hrs. The experience was very aggravating, especially after such a long flight. Additionally, I find Cathays lack of transperancy with their customers very unprofessional. Sad as this is my preferred airline to flight but will take this into account for future bookings."

The reclining pitch was excellent - even for the people sitting behind. There is a hassock-like panel to elevate one's legs about 45 degrees. Almonds instead of peanuts, a menu option with a main of a nice piece of steak (that could be cut with an airline knife!), amenity kit... Very happy passenger."

Ventajas: "The quick response of flight attendants and the comfort of the economy seats."

Ventajas: "It seems like it has little more space than other airline I use to ride for international. Entertainment has more verity to watch. Personally I thought I book the seat within 48 hours but they said it didn't go though but I got better seat though a ticket counter."
Desventajas: "Website is little confused and try to book the seat arrange wasn't work . Try to book mileage,book seats,see satuts of schedule over all Website is little confusing."

Desventajas: "48 hr preboarding online checkin is nonexistent. Error messages via link."

Ventajas: "I enjoyed the meals during the flight. The meals that were provided has a salad, main course, fruits and desert. Good amount of leg room, comfortable seating and enterntainments of movie and music."
Desventajas: "I don't really like the buzzing sound when the plane was in motion (as most planes were, I believe)."

Desventajas: "The crew was not very friendly and it didn’t seem like there were enough staf for such a large plane. It took a long time to get our first meal, and the food was terrible in comparison to other flights, even other China air flights we’ve been on. We could not understand the English announcements as she was not a fluent speaker. I would probabalynavoid flying with China air again."

Desventajas: "I smelled the breakfast food, but it was “optional” or something? We had to ask for it special; I must have missed the announcement. Don’t know why they didn’t just serve it with over an hour before we reached destination."

Ventajas: "The staff were actually very nice and possibly the only good thing about this trip."
Desventajas: "The turbulence was the worst I had ever experienced in my life. Granted, I understand nothing can really be done about that but, the captains made little to no effort to inform us when we would be hitting turbulence. All he said was “Crew, take your seats.” People just had to assume we were about to hit turbulence. And gosh was it horrible turbulence. 13 and 1/2 hours and at least 7 incidences of really hard turbulence. I got no sleep at all, cause I was much to afraid to even close my eyes. I wish the capitains could have said something to calm us down. It was frightening."

Ventajas: "I liked that cleanliness and the blankets were really nice! I liked the selection of entertainment. The food was alright for getting meals on a airplane. The staff was very nice as well."
Desventajas: "The space was very small and if someone tall is sitting behind you, you cannot our seat back at all so for a 15 hour flight that’s pretty bad. Everything else was good!"

Ventajas: "Friendly airline staff. Ease of obtaining boarding pass at the counter. Clean, modern aircraft. Thanks China Airlines!"
Desventajas: "As with all airlines, the "the hurry up and wait" processes associated with getting onto the plane are tiring."

Ventajas: "They used a more modern plane for the longer haul part of our two flights home from Bali and appreciated the slightly bigger seats for the longer flight. Good inflight entertainment options."
Desventajas: "Terrible food."

Ventajas: "The meals are very good and tasty, good portions."
Desventajas: "The economy seat is OK but too distance between seats could use extra inch."

Desventajas: "Terrible experience. 3 hours on tarmac, no hotel, lost a night of sleep. Booked with United and am waiting to hear back from Kayak for my refund. Kayak did not impress me at all either, very poor communication. Still no email acknowledging the refund. Please contact me so this can be resolved and I can stop stressing. Email is best since I have another flight."

Ventajas: "The crew was excellent with services provided. This aircraft was roomier as compared to the first leg of our trip. The flight was excellent and generally very smooth."

Desventajas: "They ran out of food options and i was served meat i could not eat for every meal, thus i ate only rice for over 24 hours. We then sat on the tarmac for over 4 hours with only 1 update,. After an over 18 hour flight. the last that could have been done was to update the passengers so we had an idea of how long we would be sitting there. it is understandable that weather may cause delays, however, it is inexcusable that we were told it would be a 2 hour delay, and were not updated until approaching 3 hours, and additionally, after that, we were told we would be approaching the gate at 10 and were not updated for another hour. The crew should have kept us better informed with the updated delays. They didn't pass out a single snack the entire 4 hour delay, and gave us one cup of water each, terrible experience"

Ventajas: "Love the air plane fly with. Seat is ok , food is better compare with Americans airline industry, but no compare with Korean airline ."
Desventajas: "The food is small tray , nothing special , silverware is plastic not like Korean Air or AsianaAirlines are stainless. Entertaining have a lot choice . But the screen is terrible small and old look . Can’t see clear with reading glasses."

Ventajas: "Polite service of the crew. Overall conditions of temperature etc. Food was good with choices as were beverages."
Desventajas: "My husband has quite long legs, and although I had plenty of room, he was a bit close (though not tight) in legroom."

Ventajas: "Took the CI11/CI12 direct from NYC to TPE. Great flight. Great crew and accommodations - pillows, blankets, seats. Food not bad."
Desventajas: "No free wifi. Paid is overpriced for 24 hours."

Desventajas: "Aircraft uses a 3 x 4 x 3 configuration on a 777, which makes things pretty tight. Typically this is 3 x 3 x 3 ."

Ventajas: "Great service. Terrific crew. They went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable for a 14 hour flight."

Ventajas: "They work hard..They do tell the passengers to sit down while you are taxing before gate arrival. Had many people jumping up trying to get their bags while we sat in a secluded spot at LAX waiting for a gate"
Desventajas: "the flight was over two hours late. Landed in LA just in time for the rush hour traffic.(4:00pm) We sat at the gate in Hong Kong for over two hours, fully loaded waiting for clearance to take off. Crew did get water for folks. As a diabetic I had brought some snacks just in case. They don't care any diet drinks and after my meal was over they brought a coke zero. You better be satisfied with water, booze, coffee or hot tea The next flight was late so we didn't miss it."

Ventajas: "After hearing horror stories of this particular airlines , it was quite the opposite . I had asked to get out in emergency seating for the extra leg room due to being a tall guy . The met my accommodations with no problem . I would def fly with them again"

Ventajas: "Had entertainment that was similiar to international flights in Delta"
Desventajas: "The food was pretty bad with bread being stale/tough and some of the main courses too greesy to eat."

Ventajas: "Had a nice flight back from Taipei to JFK on China Airlines in premium economy. Compared to economy, I was quite happy with the comfortable far-reclining seats and more than enough leg room. My one complaint is food. I'm a vegetarian and the veg options were awful...simply not acceptable. And giving passengers the full can of soda/beverage would be nice. Most adults drink more than a shot glass worth of soda or juice. Or at least fill the cup a bit more."

Ventajas: "I've been taking CI to Taiwan since I was a little kid. My flight to Seoul via Taipei was a bit uncomfortable bc the flight was fully packed and even though I had an aisle seat, the person sitting in the middle was hogging up all my space . Once I landed in Taipei and went on next flight to my destination at Seoul, that flight was much more comfortable and less people. On my return direct flight from Taipei to JFK seats were comfy and service is always attentive. I enjoy taking china airlines and can always rely on their service and clean planes"
Desventajas: "The new interior decoration seems outdated and gives a weird vibe."

Ventajas: "Great Taiwanese airline. It's not a Chinese airline despite the confusing name, so there is no safety concern and the passengers are nice and civilized people. Great service similar to other airline from Taiwan (EVA Air)."

Ventajas: "Considerate boarding. Needed extra time. Crew was great. Aircraft cleanliness Not overbooked. Person in front of me put seat all the way back and kept rocking. NO room. Knees were constantly being bumped. Very inconsiderate. He had 2 seats next to him to move"
Desventajas: "Food was inedible. For a 14+ hr flight that is a big deal. Coffee was served during severe turbulence. Spilled everywhere. Did NOT GET BURNED fortunately. Since there was 12 hrs to go the service could have been delayed."

Ventajas: "The premium economy seats had half recline and leg support. the cabin crew were very courteous. They gave an overnight kit similar to business class. Same food as business except servived with plastic utensils and small plastic tray."
Desventajas: "The boarding area in Taipei was small, crowded and chaotic."

Ventajas: "I liked the large selection of movies and TV shows."
Desventajas: "The headphone jack on the chair wasn't working as well as it could have so it was hard to hear the movies I was trying to watch. I didn't like how the meals and lights being dimmed seemed to correspond to (and keep us on) the time zone of the place we were leaving instead of adjusting us to the time zone of the place we were going."
